1,500 finals have started...Florida, Texas and Virginia Tech are top-three in the scoreboard at the moment and all three have an athlete in the finals..
Also, the 400-meter race is getting close to the finals, while only nine are left in the pole vault and the triple jump is about to go into the final round of prelims.

I'll work on updates tonight..several events are nearing an end and play has been slow...should be able to update the scoreboard by the weekend with some new numbers.
Just sent out the start of the 1,600-meter relay...our final event. Alabama earned a bye into the finals for that one.
Also, the 5,000-meter will go as scheduled for ongoing matches, but prelims #2 and the finals will you escalating cards to prevent the 5K from becoming a marathon

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but one of the games you started for us has fallen off the list because someone didn't show up. It was started on the 25th:
Third attempt —Triple jump Prelims #1F --- Game 5485385

Will the Triple Jump/Javelin Prelim marks carry over to the finals? I don't see a rule on that.

Yes...the top 10 jumpers from the prelims advance and get three more tries...best overall jump (out of all six attempts) count for your final mark

Scoreboard has been updated with Florida starting to pull away from the pack after a pair of runner-up finishes from b00060 and HighlanderAttack.
Congrats to Industrial Helix, Nebraska for winning the 400 race and to Nivilla, Georgia for taking the 1,500.
Just one match away from adding in the pole vault results, and yes a Gator is fighting for first-place points there, too

Scoreboard has been updated to include the pole vault, putting us halfway home with 5 of the 10 events counted...Florida extends its lead after getting two players on the awards stand in the vault. The Gators have 42 points....second place Texas A&M sits at 25.

1,600-meter relay has been updated with three of the matches for the finals set...one prelim still ongoing.
Also, only 8 jumpers are left in the high jump, so that should be wrapping up soon.
The 5K is looking like it may take awhile...we'll see how that plays out...Witt13 has moved into the finals so far.

As we wind things down in this tourney...I wanted to open things up for suggestions for a similar tourney next year.
My thoughts...
I like the four-player per team format...
I'd like to add several events to boost things up to 15-17 total events.
Also, I plan to use escalating cards more...at least in the multi-player games.
for new events...I'm thinking some assassin formats would be a good addition.

A terminator type event would be interesting for something like the Jumps - 8 player pools, where the first player eliminated in each game is dropped, and the next game commences with 7 players, and so on until you have a 1v1 for the pool win. Then the same format for the finals.
