Re: Israel
If you think Israel murdering 44,000 civilians is an acceptable response to Hamas murdering 1,000 civilians, what do you think the Middle East's response to Israel murdering 44,000 civilians should be?

Re: Israel
I think you meant to say "should HAVE known".
The truth is, they did know. They knew they would invite massive retaliation from Israel, which would result in heavy civilian casualties, which would result in terrible PR for Israel, which would put an end diplomatic rapprochement between Israel and places like Saudi Arabia and the Trucial Sheikdoms which in recent years have become steadily friendlier towards Israel.
Basically Hamas made a very cynical calculation that in exchange for a few thousand civilian lives, it could knock the peace process back 30 years. Their plan has succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. The casualties have been even greater than expected, and so has the damage to Israel's reputation.
So, yeah, Hamas is a ruthless organization of religious fanatics that has cynically thrown the civilians under its control to the wolves. Every last member of Hamas should be shot and killed. I won't argue with you there.
Trouble is, the wolves aren't blameless. They didn't need to take the bait. They could have shown far greater restraint. Nutty Yahoo and the religious wackos in his cabinet, far from reluctantly engaging, have engaged with enormous enthusiasm. They have been far less restrained and done far more damage to the peace process than anyone expected, even Hamas. Ultimately, religious nuts are religious nuts, regardless of which religion they follow. Ultraorthodox Jews are just as evil as their extremist counterparts on the Muslim side.
And obviously some of the dead on both sides were fanatics and deserved it, but I'll guarantee you that a great many were not.

December 7, 24 Adoration
Message from Jesus
Give to me what is mine. All that is given is given from my abundant heart that continually overflows. I seek more from those who believe. I give to all the resources of my bounty. Be grateful that I am generous to all. I am King and Lord of all who dwell on the Earth and below. I have dominion over all the Earth and what fills it. I shall reign forever without end. Peace to those who do my work. I live within the hearts who believe. The day will come when all will bow to me the Lord God.

Message from Jesus
It is I your Lord and Savior. I come seeking those who believe and will follow me faithfully. I reside in deep spaces of your heart. Come seek me in your own heart. I am there waiting for you. Come to me always seeking to go deeper to where I lead you always to myself. I call you to myself. I bear witness to the reality of mine existence through those who believe and the world I created. I am who I am your Lord and Savior. Let yourself be drawn deeper.

As Supreme Governor of the Church of England she was the high priestess of more than a dozen countries and she knew that the modern state of Israel is not biblical Israel, it is the Synagogue of Satan foretold in Revelation.Reuven Rivlin last night revealed the extent of his frosty relationship with Queen Elizabeth II.
The former President of Israel said: “The relationship between us and Queen Elizabeth was a little bit difficult, because she believed that every one of us was either a terrorist or a son of a terrorist.”
He added: “She refused to accept any Israeli official into (Buckingham) Palace, apart from international occasions.”

Message from Jesus
I gather my sheep to myself. I am the Good Shepherd who cares for my flock. I guard my lambs and bring back the strays. I am the good and Holy One of Israel! I follow my flock, and they know me. I am the Shepherd that leads them in pastures of plenty. I care for them. Follow the Shepherd and His ways. I come to those who listen and obey my words. Come to me and follow.

This weekend Israel decided to close its embassy in Dublin, trotting out more of the usual 'if you disagree with our genocide, or our army attacking Irish peacekeepers, then you must be an anti-Semite'.

Israel has occupied the Golan Heights for more than 50 years. There's nothing 'temporary' about it.HitRed wrote:Israel creating a new temporary buffer zone
It's also not a buffer zone if it's full of Israeli stormtroopers. The explicit purpose of the buffer zone is to be a demilitarised zone, located within Syria. Sending Israel soldiers and settlers to it is an annexation.

I don't know the particulars that should explain why but, many of them believe the temple must be rebuilt and fought over as part of "the end times". So some groups are very excited about that.saxitoxin wrote:from John 19:30 ...

Personally I believe if God wanted a sacrificial temple the original would have stayed. As you wrote, the final sacrifice was made so the old covenant was completed.
It's like the bill was paid but some people are thinking,
"The service for the meals we read our ancestor had sounds really great. Lets go back and tip them more."
The restaurant was torn down. It's a completly different building now.
"No problem, let's take over the city it was in and rebuild the restaurant."
It should be interesting from an architectural angle to see a modern interpretation of the structures.
Re: Israel
I think some in Israel have already set a side all the building materials.
Rebuilding isn’t a Christian thing to my knowledge. Not Catholic anyway.

Re: Israel
Dispensationalists -- whose theology is the entire basis for Christian Zionism and without which it wouldn't exist at all nor would the mutated cardboard and papier-mâché recreation of biblical Israel -- want a Third Temple rebuilt to fulfill prophecy.HitRed wrote:I think some in Israel have already set a side all the building materials.

They reject the reality that all the work was finished at Calvary. In reality, there is nothing else left to be done and Mosaic Law has been fulfilled. There is no scriptural basis for a modern "state of Israel."
Catholics, being non-dispensationalists, don't believe in Zionism as a matter of theology but some individual Catholics do since Catholics are not Christian. Catholics are persons who were beguiled and bamboozled by the 3rd century equivalent of musical theater and drag cabaret. I saw a good explanation of Catholicism the other day on X ---
