I really should post more in my own tourney threads... *makes a note of that as "things to do next round"*.
I think the problem with this mass messenger is it's so easy to get all the info out I need, that I forget about this mass communication tool!
Anyway, there are now updated scores in post 1. These will also be coming out in a pm soon. We've got 7 games left, and it looks like you will need about 20/21 points to make it through to the next cycle.
So far, the longest game I can remember seeing was Pearl Habour - Game 9, which went to 135 rounds... At once stage when I looked, each player had upwards of 1000 armies.... Talk about patience, I'd crack at about 200
But thankfully we're almost done, and I've hurried everyone along so I'd say we'll be announcing a first round winner by this time next week *fingers crossed*. It's been great fun organising this tourney, and I hope you all join my tourneys in the future.
Please give me any constructive criticism, and advice of things you would like to see next tourney. I've tried to make it as easy and friendly as possible for everyone, and I hope you've all had fun!
Cheers!

Pay attention more that people talk in your tourney thread

It's really annoying when I ask something and don't get an answer

OK, since Tieryn's not lurking about, here's what I've got:
Rank / Name Score/Games
1 / Prinfi 30 / 7
2 / brikb 29 / 7
3 / Tieryn 27 / 7
4 / dragon dor 26 / 7
5 / SalvatoreLuciano 26 / 7

20 / CarrotKhan 20 / 7
XX / Winters_Sorrow 18 / 6 (Omaha)
XX / Ln2Blaze 18 / 6 (Iwo) (advances)
Obviously anyone with 22 is in. Anyone with 21 has now advanced as well, with bonobo's elimination from his Iwo game. Chatze and Carrot are on thin ice, and will at best have to play a tiebreak with Winter.
Game of interest: there is only 1
1465905 (Winter has at least 2 points guaranteed. If he finishes 3rd, there's a 3-way tiebreaker for 2 slots. If he finishes 1st or 2nd, he advances outright)
1596499 (blaze has at least 3 points and thus advances)

pjdonald, you're a champion mate

cheers for working that, I'm just confirming it now but it looks good.
Here are the official, current scores... note I am missing the middle order of game 1596489 - since the log has gone missing somewhere. If Hugh.G.Rection could let me know who came 2nd and 3rd that would be great.

Congratulations to Prinfi who is our first cycle champion

well done!
In the two remaining important games: Thekidstrumpet needs to win both of them to get 20 points, and hence make the tiebreaker.
Winters_sorrow coming 3rd will make the tiebreaker, needs 2nd or 1st to guarantee entry into the next cycle.
The only miss you made pjdonald is that kidstrumpet could still make the tiebreaker if he wins both! So all remaining games (only 2 of them) are of import!
Unless he doesn't win the D-Day game, then it's moot
Thank you everyone for playing, the next cycle will be beginning hopefully within the fortnight as these last couple of games play out.

Yup, my apologies, tieryn and kid. I didn't go as low as 10 to find alive players. You're right, our Iwo game does matter.

I want to thank everyone for playing, and to the top 20, get ready for the finals

Scores will be reset, and battle will begin again with new maps this time.
To the four non-premium players who have made the top 20, brikb, SalvatoreLuciano, whichwayisup? and cecko_mk, I will be looking to run a few extra games at a time for the semi-finals round.
Remember folks, this is the second of three cycles. This time we take the top 20 players, and play through each map again. The final four (or maybe more depending on tied scores) will then play a final run through, to claim the ultimate title of CC's Master Battler.
In order to speed the process up a little, and to represent the escalation of hostilities as the battle progress, I have been thinking about making this cycle all Escalating games. The in order to represent the fact that in the end, it's strategy, not armies, that win the day, I was going to make the Grand Final Cycle all No Cards. (Hopefully the last players will be premium by then, or willing to buy premium, so that we can run all those games simultaneously to represent the ultimate generalship of commanding wars on many fronts... The strategies there could get very intricate... to say the least!)
I will be sending around a message to everyone thanking them, but I would like all the top 20's votes on whether they think this is a good idea or not.
Thanks again for playing guys and gals, I've really enjoyed it.

The first thing that i want say is thanks to Tieryn for organize the tournament, is a hard job and you are doing very good. For that i don't want criticize your decisions and i will respect all of them, but if this tournament were been escalating i would not have joined, so now i'm not happy with this change, but i will play anyway, you are the boss

and you can change whatever you want, i'll be here

(this will be a good moment to learn how to play escalating games

, losing but learning)

I would also like to pass on my congratulations for the running of the tourney to date - great job
With regard to escalating for the next round - I personally have no preference there and am happy to play escalating, flat rate or no cards whatever is deemed more appropriate.

by Tieryn
Having heard quite a few replies, and a number of people expressing their dislike of escalating games, I'm going to change the format a little...
Games on "LARGE" (read - very large) maps will be escalating. Others will be Flat rate... In the grand finals. The very large will be flat, and the normal will be no cards.
The list is as follows:
Battle of Actium - Escalating
Siege! - Flat Rate
Waterloo - Escalating
American Civil War - Flat Rate
Bamboo Jack - Escalating
Pearl Harbour - Flat Rate
D-Day: Omaha Beach - Escalating
WWII Eastern Front - Flat Rate
WWII Western Front - Flat Rate
Battle for Australia - Flat Rate
WWII Iwo Jima - Flat Rate
Berlin 1961 - Flat Rate
For the Grand Finals, those Escalatings will become Flat, and the Flats will become No Cards.
Does this solution sound better to everyone?

Wise decision

i didn't hope less from a great organizer like you, now i'm more happy
