rockstar adds milk thistle to a lot of their drinks...i have ragweed allergy...i drank a rockstar and it felt like i had a rash on my upper digestive system for over a week ....web md said this...
Milk thistle may cause diarrhea. More rarely, it may cause nausea, bloating, gas, and upset stomach.
Women who are breastfeeding or pregnant should avoid using milk thistle.
If you have a ragweed allergy, you should also avoid milk thistle. Milk thistle may cause a rash or lead to severe allergic reaction.
Since milk thistle may mimic the effects of estrogen, some women should avoid this herb. This includes women who have fibroid tumors or endometriosis. Additionally, women with breast, uterine, and ovarian cancers should not take milk thistle.

Re: Monster energy drink is revolting
I'm not one for energy drinks, but this one:

is essentially carbonated orange juice with some extra kick and tastes delicious. I'm not a fan of the other drinks (they burn my throat too much), but this is a lot tamer and tastes great ice cold.

red bull was prohibited in france for quite some time; then they made a "taurine free" receipe which was the coponent thay was a problem for authorities, then after a couple of years they introduced the normal version with taurine.
i have one once in a while, mostly for long drives (placebo effect?). I can have nights out where everyone is on vodka red bull and i'm in. it doesn t taste bad at all. but yeah, i remember once it turned my stomach around, and i was burping red bull flvoured burps all day was horrible.
by the way, no one mentioned burn, the one from coca cola. does that shit still exists?

Re: Monster energy drink is revolting
Theres lots of regional Coca-cola company products RDS.
We have a few here that you dont find anywhere else. I suspect they are all similar/the same.
Also as far as energy drinks go they are not particularly good for anything (unless you like the taste). Generally speaking as far as stimulents go, if you want a perk up, take caffine without sugar (so maybe sugarfree versions? /shrug), as sugar will have the net effect of making you more tired/lethargic (after the initial rush which lasts no longer than a few minutes). Caffine effects however, last for hours.

I once drank four in the space of about...30 minutes, I guess... to start and finish a huge paper that was due in the morning. I felt like shit the next day, way worse than any hangover. Got a B+ on the paper, though, so I guess it was worth it.

I had a sip of Monster once, like in 2006 or 2007 I think. I did not enjoy it.

maasman wrote:I personally think all energy drinks taste the same, and if I'm not in the mood to stay awake, no amount of caffiene will help. I can drink all the Mtn. Dew I want and go to sleep immediately, or I can have non-caffinated pop and stay awake for hours.
But anyways, I think energy drinks are silly, why pay for an over priced drink that doesn't taste good?
So lets see what's changed in the last 4 years...
Energy drinks in general still don't taste good, but the new monster rehab stuff is delicious. I only drink them when I go on a long drive though since I figure running into a tree is far less healthy than an energy drink.
Also, I found that drinking 48 oz. of monster makes a great diet drink. My stomach hates it so much that I'm not hungry for like a day afterwards. I had to force myself to eat that day and the day after.

Re: Monster energy drink is revolting
I prefer red grapefruit ahead of any energy drink. Not only does it taste better, it also makes me feel more alert.

I was used to Red bull during my college days. Its true that over consumption of energy drink may be hazardous to health. One can of Red bull per day is sufficient for anyone.
