I'm still confused on how each Group Winner and Runner-up are determined.

I have a couple of questions.
MrBenn wrote:Players begin in the group stages.... Seeded teams will be distributed evenly and will start with an extra man (each player will start the game with the same number of men on the pitch).
So does that mean that if you're playing in a 1v1 game like the "Official 2010 CC World Cup - Singles" tournament, which I am (my first tournament :? - wish me luck :!: ), each player will begin with 2 of the counties in each group (distributed evenly)? Also, extra over and above what?
MrBenn wrote:To get a bonus from the group stage, you'll need to hold 3/4 teams in a group AND the winner or runner-up....

The bonuses for reaching the Quarter or Semi Finals are not accumulative; it's +2 regardless of how many Semi-Finalist positions you hold.
Are the bonuses from the group stage cumulative? The map says that you can progress to the playoffs as Group Winner or Runner-up, but what's to prevent you from taking both. In which case would you get, say, 3+2 bonus for holding all 4 teams and the winner and the Runner-up or does just the largest bonus apply? Is that a stupid question?

I guess that was actually 4 questions.

Are there going to be no limits to the number of non-speed games we can make/join on the World Cup Map map (like on St.Patrick's last year)?

Would have maybe been an idea to run a speed tournament to coincide with the map and speed game holiday.

I'd be up for it if someone to help me with (a) Live Game Invites (b) Marketing (e.g. Announcement / Official Tournament Status

MrBenn, I would like to apologize for what was probably an over reaction. I know your initial comment did not mean any disrespect. I guess I was just a bit frustrated because it can be very difficult for new mapmakers (especially ones without prior image design experience) to be successful.

That would be great Sam.I know I for one would like to take part as I am sure many others would be.2 tournaments really isn't enough to give the community a fair chance at getting into one.

If you have started a speed game before the deadline and it runs after the deadline what happens?

It only means you can't start any new games, you will still be able to complete your current games ;)

It is the last option on the start a game page, change the Round Length to Speed instead of Casual ;)

I'm very disappointed to see a new map start with 12 terits per person in 1v1. Shame that you couldn't have made it more balanced.

The map never went through the foundry process, so what do you expect...

It's not like the foundry foreman was involved in the map or anything. Very disappointing.
