A WoT map would be awesome, but securing the rights to make it is too much of a long shot. Of course, someone could always make a WoT-esque map.

And Brandon Sanderson has been awesome for the Wheel of Time series. I'm looking forward to the last book finally coming out.

Why?

It would inevitably be a disappointment.

Well you're just a little ray of sunshine aren't you! Or should that be blast of bale-fire?! GoT readers seem to have been reasonably satisfied so why would you just flat out assume WoT would be so shabbily done as to be "inevitably disappointing"?!

I still think it'd be cool so neerr :P

Just from this thread, it reminds me of a few other series: The Lonely Winds thelonelywinds.com, Quantum Leap, Time Tunnel, Wheel in the Sky (a song actually).
I might look this up and see what it's about.

The 14th and final book is coming out next year. The books are an average of 6 or 7 hundred pages. Are you sure you can handle it?

Yeah, I can handle it. Credentials: read all of Don Quixote, plus a whole bunch of other books,

700 pages! Wow! sounds fun!

Okay, the last book has been out for over a week now, and while good, it left a few things "meh" or "yuck" for me, it was still enjoyable.

I used to be a big fan, but around about book 7 or 8, I was not able to keep buying the books and they stopped appearing in my local libabraries.

now.. its so detailed, I would have to go back to the start to even know what is happening.

I stopped around book 5, read the summary for book 6, then lost interest.

The series was becoming too repetitive, tedious, and stagnant. :(

It picks up the pace in the later books, especially from 10 onwards.

I wonder which idiot decided it would be a good idea to wait 3 months before releasing it in e-book format.

If I had to guess, either TOR (the publisher) or Harriet, Robert Jordan's wife (who doubled as his and Brandon Sanderson's editor).
