second of all, the 'promises' i'm making are based on the plan to not waste my time creating a map then to have to change it at the end. i don't want to spend hours making somethign that is going to all be either undone, or thrown away because people won't like it.

why didn't you say that in the first place??

anyway think about the borders problem i posted earlier.

i don't like this one, i think you need to work off the first one, its much better then the "update"

London would be alright. though personaly I think the layout is a little too open, very little natural borders.

hey mojo,

I think it's a bit better than the first one to work off of but I'm still not convinced it's going to work. I really appreciate your effort though as I would love to see a playable map of London. Have you looked at the SF Map that is in the foundry right now? The User decided to use a satellite photo from the USGS (United States Geological Survey), which is public domain. I'm not suggestion you copy this idea, but that you see how a three dimensional map like that works really well when dealing with a City rather than a continent or large land mass.

Unfortunately that's part of making any map. You have to be open to suggestions, put them in place (usually despite your better judgement) and figure out the best approach to any situation.

Onto the map itself, I know it's still only a draft, but there's no reason you couldn't spend an extra couple of minutes making things clearer before you post your images. I don't know where Oxford Street is so your comments about it make absolutely no sense to me because I can't find it on your map.

Where are you planning on putting your legend?

i like the new color scheme much better, and I dig the fact that you're working from an actual map of the city, but think I liked the shape of the first one better. It loses something going to a straight rectangle, and there are important parts of the city that are cropped off.

With the old shape, the dead space around the outside left room for you to play around... maybe a red phone box down the side, Big Ben image in the background, or a legend on the side of one of those buses that look like they're about to tip over. :)

i prefer the original idea to the one you came up with as the second idea
