The TV shows they have on their are well worth it as well... Entire runs of classic sitcoms (Cheers, The Cosby Show) and dramas (Farscape, Macgyver, Doctor Who).

If you can't find anything to watch on streaming, then I really don't know what to say...

I will look into it more. I don't think our connection really supports streaming, but I might be wrong. Also, our cable/internet/phone are bundled. I only pay $20 more for cable, including the extra channel my husband "requires".

My kids occasionaly watch nick and Disney, but its mostly the outdoor channel (for hunting shows), or PBS. My husband likes cooking shows plus those new ones like "swamp logger" and "swamp people", "Sons of guns", etc. I don't believe most of those are on the net.

I like very little any longer.. would mostly like some things in a language that is not very popular here, to keep my skills up.

But what I did not see was some of the less popular "art" movies and such. Maybe we had only a limited listing, but I went to the main website.

The streaming even has Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life. How nostalgically awesome is that? And even all of the original The Twilight Zone. That's all I've pretty much used it for lately.

LOL.. speaking to someone well on her way to reading everything in the local library. And.. we can even get movies there!

However, to say that all movies come from books or that all good movies come from good books is not correct. In fact, with a few exceptions, I generally prefer not to see movies that are just remakes of books... and I rarely read books made from movies.

Right here...this. PLAYER, you should get your kids to watching MacGyver ASAP. It truly IS 'your kind of show' (if you didn't already know of it). You almost couldn't find a better television show for them to watch, I don't think. It's my wife's all-time favorite show (she's in love with Richard Freaking Dean Anderson). But I liked it fairly well too, when his gadgets weren't TOO mind-numbingly unrealistic.

LOL.. actually, I used to watch it as a kid. Also, when we had retro TV, they loved it. (along with the "A Team".. which I found rather humerous)

Truth is we likely won't be watching anything soon except library videos.... and I will probably be losing the internet as well. However, I will keep that in mind for later.

PS I did enjoy the original Dr Who. Saw it overseas. I think I saw the entier Farscape series (in the US) as well.

My family can only watch so-called "art" movies; we love Netflix. Trust me, the selection is fine.

(I am now going to demand that Netflix pay me for my services, right after I suppress my gag-reflex.)

I now realize I have probably never seen MacGyver. I was never a big fan of Knight Rider (my brother enjoyed it), but it tickled me that my son would like the same show that his uncle enjoyed at roughly the same age.

Anyway... looks like I might need to give Netflix another try. I understand you can use a Wii to download?

The Wii doesn't have an available wired connection? I thought it did for some reason (not that I have a Wii... can't afford it).

It has built in wireless; you have to buy a special port to hook up a wired connection.

You could also use Netflix on the Xbox 360 if you have that.
