I played all the later M&Ms and most of the earlier ones too, but quite honestly nothing compares with VI.
VI is my favorite, followed closely by VII. I didn't bother finishing VIII, and IX and X were ridiculous wastes of time.

I don't know if you can exactly "beat" a sports game, but Darksiders definitely counts.
I whooped Blood Bowl's ass. (A wonderful turn-based, fantasy-based sports game, by the way.)

WRONG III is the best end of story
I must admit that I haven't played III. I started with V, and could never get the earlier ones to load (or if they loaded, to play very well).

That was how I got them to run when I did. I have DosBox on my system (so that I can run my alltime favorite game, M.A.X.).

I've only played III with my friends but they have played all of them and say III is the best. They're all prolly really good they have a good formula with Heroes

Now if you're talking about HEROES of Might and Magic (a much different animal), then I will agree with you that III is by far the best. I think that series actually has gone way downhill.

The last game I finished...hm...was Psychonauts I believe, at least in terms of a story driven story of game. I've been also mucking around with Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim, and Galactic Civilizations 2.
Thanks for the tip. I'll try out M&M VI first since two of you agree its good. As for Spamnet, I'm waiting for a "smokey" flavored version of its world dominion, then I'll choose it over skynet for my self destruction purposes!

I loved it. It's a first-person view, which is nice. I also like that it has multiple characters in the party, rather than just a lone individual, which gives you more flexibility. And I like that you can go into turn-based mode for combat if you want to (I prefer turn-based combat).
However, my recommendation to you is to buy "Might and Magic Platinum Edition". You won't pay significantly more than you would for just the one game at this point (if you can even buy just VI any more), and you'll have the fully-updated versions of ALL of the M&M games up to M&M IX.
