he bought back in, through a glitch his poly games that he was kicked for violations, he is back in. they can only kick one colour, so that is bullshit. he has his points, his rank, nice new premium and there is absolutely no public record of his being busted... it has to change...

furthermore, he is in a poly tournament and was kicked from games, but is able to still play in those games, because CC can only eliminate one of the player colours...

As an alternative solution, what if the player was not allowed to create any new games until a week (or other length of time) after all current games ended?

  • The player could volunteer to be booted from all active and waiting games starting the punishment immediately.
  • The player could deadbeat their games, giving others an opportunity to react to the departure.
  • The player could play out the games, but would only be delaying their punishment.
You could even have a formula for extending the punishment based on how long it takes for them to finish their games. Say one extra day per week of delay.

I support making punishments stronger.

HOWEVER, I also think it should be mandatory that "the accused" gets notified / contacted to allow a defense PRIOR to getting games dropped / punishment being handed down. Not everyone lives 24/7 on forums, and I know many I've contacted that had pending C&A had no idea they were accused. And several who had punishments / later e ticketed and cleared, which would result in many lost games even though it was unnecessary / overturned. This is especially important with team games, if punishment is increased we need to make sure it's not issued before the future punished at least is aware and has a chance to discuss / counter w C&A group / MH

I think it's actually even better if their teammates suffer - this adds the ire of said teammates in addition to any other punishment. And makes it incumbent upon everyone to make sure their teammates aren't cheating.

How idiotic. If someone can bypass the mods & admins without being caught for a set period of time, how should a team mate know?

do you have any idea how many team games i played with blitzaholic? i had no idea he was as big of a cheat as he turned out to be... why should i be held responsible if the people in charge couldn't see it?-Jn

i don't believe the intent is to punish the teammate of the cheater so much as it is to make the cheater more of an asswhipe to put the teammate in the position of losing team games because he felt like cheating.

giving cheaters incentive to cheat is a bad thing. like i care tho'

don't get me wrong... kick them the "F" out of the games. didn't we used to do that? when did it change? i don't remember that. and why was the change made? anyone? anyone? bueller?-Jésus noir

Well, them choosing what is convenient for them is probably not a good idea, but other than that, his idea has merit...make it so they can't start new games until a week after all their current games end. It's not as harsh as some suggestions here, but it is a possibility for, say, a first offense.

EDIT

IN any case, I also support the idea of making the punishment actually BE a punishment.

Just a thought here, but have you looked at the punishment systems of other online communities? Might be a good place to research.

The only one I know well enough is Dota II where you are forced to play games with other deadbeaters etc. Its painful and a horrible punishment.

Well that won't work because it affects the point system, plus most premium members wouldn't care.

For the love of God you people need to get a life. This is the most pathetic thing I have ever read on the net. Am guessing you all are 30+ and live at home in your parents basement.

What the hell does this have to do with the conversation at hand?

I wish CC would clean up things like this (referring to forum punishments) before introducing gambling to our "family friendly" gaming site. Either that, or we should just go ahead and admit we aren't family friendly. In fact, they should just straight up weed out all children, make each user agree to a statement that they are 21 or older, and can be permanently removed if found to be under age, bring back flame wars, and just roll on as an adult site.

Bollocks.
