flower wars by [player]dakky21[/player] and
paris by [player]josko.ri[/player] (based on work by [player]sempaispellcheck[/player]) have been approved so far and are in the
Drafting Room forum. players can pledge credits by posting in the relevant map thread.
viewforum.php?f=583seven other concepts, which all lack a map image, are in the
Melting Pot: Map Ideas forum. some are looking for artists.

Can someone explain with more details what does the pledge for? What is the reason behind having members putting pledge (rewarding credits), what those credits to be use for?

If you want a new map, pledge credits to a mapmaker to encourage their attempt to make a new map. Simple as that, though credits apart of buying premium are useless.

Ok so if I've correctly understand the point, I bring a map (should the map has territs already layed out and map rules decided), I put credits in this map account (so can do other member as well) and those credits will go to the mapmaker account if the map goes to it's completion? (Sort of a reward to him/her for doing the map for me)

Correct, it's to encourage map making since and show which maps the community want to see / get behind.

to be more exact, players can pledge credits to a map. if the mapmaker arranges for someone else to take over the project, then the pledged credits remain valid.

I will sponsor another space themed map.
Only restriction is it must be completed by Jan 1, 2018.

as much sense as a Foundry thread being in GD... I was under the impression that a map maker was given premium by the site, as a reward, when completed... whatever... anyway, i'm 100% behind you guys rebuilding the foundry!!! we should start by moving this thread there, since it already has traction!!! good luck!!!-Jésus noir

MapStarter 2017 is Cartography meets KickStarter on CC... a way of encouraging a new wave of creativity, and new playing experiences for our players, all while rewarding the mapmakers for creating great stuff that people want. Mapmakers should note that a number of new features such as Stages and Transformations have been developed, but are yet to used. It's been rumored that bigWham will personally kick in to any maps using these features.
My concept was to modify and maybe merge Feudal Epic/Feudal War to include tunnels

it's easiest to explain stages by example. the moribund
great war map, which was developed by oneyed, was planned to have two stages.
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=182388the transformation xml structure is in the thread below.
viewtopic.php?f=102&t=183876the
1944 operation overlord map, which is in the main foundry workshop, incorporates transformations, as did the abandoned
defend america.
