Then, if so, continuing along this same vein of metaphor, what would be the Ford Taurus of firearms?

I suppose if you want a handgun, buying a Glock is better than being in Canada.

Taurus is a fine weapon. Their lifetime total warranty is the shit. Like zippo and a few others; I've used it twice and received a new weapon.

Glock is also a fine gun; I just personally dislike them as a majority of new, uneducated, gangbanger users pick Glock as a go to for some reason. In the pistol world, my go to is the 1911. I have 8.

In the glock-ish world, I like the Kahr - have a few. Inexpensive, stripped down glock-like. Kahr was a Glock partner that spun off and did his own thing.

Back to thread.....sorry

Are we talking about Canadian school children or American school children?

It looks like the importance of guns is the size of them.

Neither, are you trying to make some sort of a joke about school shootings?

I was just sort of alluding to Saxitoxin being allowed to buy, sell and own Glocks because he lives in the United States of America instead of here.

I liked Glocks when I first found out about them, 1986? Now i don't mind them, I just prefer other brands.

Currently if I was legally allowed to buy a handgun and was going to, I would buy a Sig.

They have not taken them away yet, but glorious leader and a bunch of other presumably somehow well meaning politicians, outlawed the purchase, sale and exchange of restricted weapons in Canada.

So it's no longer an option for myself and my law abiding friends that like to legally use handguns to purchase one.

As expected the ilegal handgun market just carries on. Several police agencies have expressed their frustration recently.

Expand on why a Sig Sauer? Looks? If that, assume you're a Beretta fan too?

Not a fan of that style, although, like everyone else, they make a nice 1911. Never owned a Sig.....actually surprised

Hmm, saxi doesn't seem clumsy at all on this election night.

...but his political enemies don't seem to even be able to pick themselves off the floor and post anything.

Maybe curled up in a little ball sobbing, just like their pathetic anti-heroine, Kamalalala?

This mornings huge run of "vivo-bumping" certainly makes you look guilty there vot, but who knows.

I was just peeping at the Sig Sauer website. They make a few 1911s. I can't recall holding any Barettas.

I couldn't think of any particular hand guns that looked significantly better to me than others. Then remembered those blue Ruger SR-22s. I guess they look quite nice. I just looked again, the SR-22 in normal colours also look better to me than Sig Sauers, that doesn't change my mind. I would need to check one out in person.

Yes, I am silly and don't like the appearance of Lugers but I'm sure they are nice to use.

It's all kind of moot now but my favorite brand for a long time was Ruger.

A few years ago, when you could still buy restricted weapons here, sales guys at two seperate shops couldn't figure out how to fully disassemble the Rugers I was looking at. That changed the mood of the day.

I like the way the model of Sig Sauer I was checking out felt in my hand. It was 22 caliber and there was a kit to change it to fire 9mm, I think that is quite a nice feature. Also it was pleasantly easy for me to disassemble for cleaning and inspection, then reassemble for service. Or to change the ammunition you can use.

Yeah that sr22 is of a type...I'm seeing what your preference is. The "newer" polymer, double action. Very popular.

In our 50 guns, we don't have a single one. Just not my style. Fine weapons, just personal preference.

As far as Ruger, however, that's my fave manufacturer. My first two pistols I bought in fact, 50 years ago. Still have them both.

Fun note; picking up a rifle today I bought from a guy for $100. Totally stole it! Winchester model 290 in like new condition. Once and a while you just stumble into a sweet deal.

Anyhoo......

Omspah, What's your preference, Glock, no handgun, or something else?
