Yeah, the guy after me has still got 29:47 left. All I know is I knew I might miss my turn as I was out of town. I forked over the 10 bucks at my hotel last night, only to find I could not log on. As soon as I got home today, around 3 PM EST, I checked and still could not log on. Now I see that my turn came at 12:33 PM today, and that my opponent has been given an extra 12 hours for their turn. Nice.
The important point here is that
I was unable to log on as early as 11 PM EST on the 14th. Had I been able to log on last night, I would have taken my turn, and all would be well. Now I have missed my turn, and with it also my last opportunity to take out an opponent who has missed 2 turns. The salt in the wound is I now have to wait an extra 12 hours for this person to deadbeat and be auto-booted from the game.
Yeah, I know, you can't please everyone...........
it's just hard when you keep coming up on the short end of these scenarios.

Honestly... How hard is it to give 24 hours from when the caos started. I am really disapointed now......... if you cant logg in for 10 hours and tries.... and still miss your turn it is something bad.....
And how about some info on the "Check if CC is back online" just a reminder that no extra time will be given from when the caos started but they will get extra time for the next person??!????!???!!!!!!???!
This was a bad one Lack and the CC team!

I got rejected more times trying to log onto CC today, than I did in college when I drove down to smith college and started knocking on doors...
I didnt really do that...i mean the knocking on doors part anyways.

Agreed.
That would be the obvious, logical & sensible thing to do in such a case.

I fail to see how adding the time has worked.
Those that missed turns still do so, and then, as if to add insult to injury, the oppos will now get a longer period to finish!!!

To everyone who is worried about adding of time - if you missed your turn and your opponent got the time instead it's because of 1 of 2 things:
Either someone in that game checked the RSS feed which will have disabled the time warp OR
Someone else took a turn in that game before we had the chance to add the time on to yours.
We'll work on the time thing if the system goes down again, but while it may not have been perfect this time, it still saved a whole truck load of games from missing turns, even if it didn't save yours...and that's better than a stick in the eye, no?
This one really took us aback - it was a whole database wipe. I think we recovered pretty well from it. This could have killed all scores and all games that ever happened

Thank goodness for backups

To all those bent about the fact that the missed turn could have cost them a game. Good thing it's only a game, eh? Think about all the games you've lost due to really crappy dice at pivotal moments? Just like the dice, you're just as likely to be on the good side of the "luck" associated with the time of the site going down as being penalized by it. Judging by history, this will likely happen again down the road. Maybe that time, you'll be the guy who was about to get crushed by the guy who barely held his massive continent bonus but would not have held up against another attack without getting his turn.
In the meantime, remember how much fun this game can be.

I'm pretty sure I didn't miss any turns, but some of my opponents did.
