Ruben, I understand your frustration---but every map will not succeed---you know this.

Personally I really like this map. I would fix the colors just a bit on it. Also give the map some more Italian feel to it. Maybe some grape vines or something. Good luck and keep up the good work. :)

Yes, granted.

But this one will even if it takes me 3 years to get through this flawed foundry process which clearly is not working, as I stated above.

Thanks for your feedback though...

Thanks Bruce.

It was suggested that the colours might be better if they were a bit lighter. Maybe this is what you meant?

Ciao Ruben,

I'm back.... :D

I'm playing with colors this night...and with your map

Do you like it?

[bigimg]http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/5430/veneto19.jpg[/bigimg]

Coloured borders and and terrain colors give more life to the map. ( i think )
If you like you have to fix the minimap and probably you have to switch belluno and treviso colors.

Have a nice day

Hi Nobodies.

I think the colours are a bit too bright. Did you modify anything else in that picture apart from the colours?

I am currently working on the impassable borders and have an updated draft at home which I want to tweak a bit. However I will be abroad for a couple of weeks and I won't have time to finish it until I get back.

Only colours... :)

Ruben,

Your first draft is good, although it does feel a little bit bland... When I think of NW Italy, I have visions of romantic cities like Venice & Verona... or beautiful scenery such as Lake Garda...

That aside, I think the map has potentially interesting gameplay; the regions look fairly difficult to hold, but the sprinkling of autodeploys might be more attractive than going for any of the regions initially? Could you clarify the bonus for the "All other regions" Is that a +1 autodeploy for each region, or +1 for holding all of them?

As some food for thought, here's a picture of the Veneto Flag:

Im liking this so far Ruben :)

1) For some reason the borders along the edge of the play area seem blurred IMO.
2) The i at the end of 'regioni' in wherever it says 'All other regioni' is small and hard to read
4) The name for Chioggia seems a bit further out than it needs to be. Maybe move it a tad bit closer to its territory?
5) I see that the name for Ca' Bianca, as well as maybe some others, does not really fit in the territory. Perhaps you could abbriviate it?
6) Venezia only connects with Mare Adriatico, but what connects with Mare Adriatico?
7) Alot of the bonuses don't really seem like they are worth it, such as the light blue bonus. Each territory of it can be attacked from multiple other territories (Other than perhaps Taglio di Po), and would be very much hard to hold.
8) Is there room on all territories for armies? Some territories seem like they do not have suffiecient room...
9) There are not much for impassables in this map. Perhaps you could add some?
10) Is it +1 for holding all of the other regioni, or +1 for each individually?

This is a very good map Ruben =D>

I think your work is amazing. If you made more historical maps(i would personally prefer this but it would also widen the audience a bit) with so much detail it would be great. I would love a couple of punic war ones, or the roman cvil war or roman conquest maps but good luck

Well, i hope you don't retire this map cause I think it has a lot of potential.

1) Really like the brighter colors.
2) I kind of feel like the playable area of the map is too small. Obviously you've got a wierd shape to work with and that can be frustrating, but it looks like the playable map has less surface area than the combined giant border territories.
2.5) Furthermore, i think the outside border regions can just get cut out, its a map of Venezia right? I favor cutting them out, refitting the key and enlarging the rest of the map.
3) I think some of the terrs can be combined for the sake of fitting the names in them, I'd also like to voice my opposition to abbreviations on maps (Ca' Bianca and Chioggia; perhaps mira and mestre; Cittadella and Camisano)
4) Perhaps tighten up the key a tad?
5) Forgive my ignorance, but I presume regioni is plural and regione is singular?
6) Shouldn't the bonus provinces have names? Personally, I think you can get by without but I believe someone told me I needed it on my map once.

Anyway, that's all I see right now. Liek i said I do like map and I'll try to keep up with feedback as it progresses.

Hey Ruben....what's happened?
No update since 06Apr09...

What are your plans?

I am currently working on the impassable borders and have an updated draft at home which I want to tweak a bit.

[Moved]

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made. ;-)

Hehe actually it was no holiday, I was away for work!

I do intend to continue to work on this map (and also on the Roman one) but right now I am swamped with...guess what...more work! Sadly my free time is very limited these days so I guess this will have to stay in here for a while.

Hey folks,

Ruben, please do keep up the good work, it is greatly appreciated!

Regarding this map, I also think impassables will help.
Re-coloring the regions is a good idea but I didn't quite like the one thenobodies80 did (no offence meant and none taken I hope!! ;) ) because it looks like it has a crab in the center.

my 2 cents... or rather euro-cents

This is a great map and so are all your other ones so I hope it succeeds.

But I think you should add a couple borders and/or make the teritorial bonuses greater. I have no experience in map making but just some suggestions.
