surely i can do 4^2 if √4 is allowed as √4 is the same as 4^0.5
AceArtemis wrote:Basically, you have to form a number using 4 4's and any operations necessary.
Your turn.
necessary operation: i am using the 2 within the operation of squaring it.
Here is an alternate 22:
22: 4! + √4 - √4 - √4 or
(4x4) + 4 + √4

22: 4! + √4 - √4 - √4
Much better. Squaring isn't a "necessary operation" as a 2 is not a 4. You'd have to cube it. Your example does not work because 4^2 can't be written without the 2, while 4^0.5 can be written without the 0.5.
23: 4! - (4/4)^4

I think you mean "raise to the power of 4", Cubing is power of 3.

31= sin^-1 (√4/4) + 4/4
the sin^-1 is all one function. Am i allowed to use it? This was the only way i could get 31

arcsine (arcsin) is the inverse function of sine... however, since you need to specify whether you're working in degrees or radians, I'd argue that this function shouldn't be used...
Here's an alternative solution:
31= (4! + (4 + √4)! ) / 4!
And on to 35...
35=4! + 44/4
edit: Just realised 35 has already been done... so here's the next one instead...
36= ((4+4) * 4)+4

37 = (√4 + 4!) / √4 + 4 !
That one was hard

I forget the nemae of it but it means 4 x 3 x 2 x 1.
What the symbol for "round down" - i.e. ignore everything to the right of the decimal point?

It is right but confusing when reading. Is this more clear? Well done btw, it would have taken me ages to get that
37= ((√4 + 4!) / √4) + 4!
