Blitz's bounty was a one time deal as I understand. The points loss would be too substantial for the king of CC to stomach. :o

Wouldn't the most points he can lose (in a single game) be 100? I thought that was the cap per person

3/8 7:45 pm--I just got home from work. I have 115 turns to take-only 15pm's--not bad at all, I am sure there are a bunch of posts as well. After I get my turns done I will start working on the tourney and responding. The players hosting bounties--I will address your games tonight as well. It will be at least a few hours as long as my internet holds up.

If its a tourney game it will be listed on the my games as "HA's 200th tourney Round 3 - Do not join more then 3 games" in bold black. It doesn't show that for me so I am assuming you are all good.

Bizzare - 9 games, and I still haven't gone first in one of them - really starting to feel the pain of going second in 1v1 matches now...

Must admit I had relatively decent dice for round one as well.

Still, the Polish WW2 is a rather decent 1v1 map in that its not possible to get a huge advantage right off due to the beginning setup.

With fog it is actually a bit of a gamble for player 1 to press the initiative. With the right areas conquered its possible to see a lot of the map, but still also possible to hide.

There were a few key points in the game, where you suddenly had a big stack available to make bids for the Polish air force and damage to my home bases. It could have worked though I had the first turn and decent dice for most of the game. Think my worst run was losing 3 taking a 1, but not at a crucial moment.

Seems it just barely tipped my way on the couple of key occasions. In any case you taught me about the risk of bombarding 1s that havent yet gotten to be a bonus for the enemy when they could block enemy stacks behind them.

Well played and good game. You should have a good chance of overcoming a first turn disadvantage playing like that. - I recommend the Polish ww2 for it. I certainly would pick it again, if I hadnt gotten a win on it (well I may be getting ahead of myself here, but you need more than normal luck to tip it from here.)

Edit: Sorry, I see that its going to have to be me or LFAW that you get through against, so heres hoping for some luck for you on your feudal map. Guess I should have picked up on that from the 9 games in a row without a first turn.

Is R3 still on the same rule: win 1 of 3 to go on?

As he has not said differently, I would expect the same rule is in effect as in round 1 and 2.

This rule kind of needs to change because technically everyone could advance.

This has already been discussed at length. HA said that he will change the format if and when he feels its neccessary.

So far, weve been losing close to 20 % each round. This may come down a bit for round 3, but Ill bet you even odds that we still lose 200+ players. Thats not really numbers to cause anyone to panic over the format... ;-)

I do believe HA also stated that he expects this Tourney to be going on for a while. I think his other tourney with the same rules went for around 15ish turns so this one may take a while. Personally I don't mind it stretching out since being a freemium its not often that I can participate in tourneys (this is my first one).

Still waiting on a bounty game to nap some premium time though :D If I had to choose the settings I would go with my hometown map flat rate (charleston)

My experience is that the games finish fairly fast, in just a few days, so I don't mind if it stretches out for a while - especially, of course, if my win rate continues like it has done until now.

I've been very sceptical to 1v1 games, as whoever begins would normally have an advantage over whoever goes 2nd. Somehow I've been able to break that tradition in the tournament, although not outside it. Don't ask me why that is, because I don't understand it.

Can we get some more Classic Map games? I don't much care about the other preferences.
