Is completely different OK?
I mean, its got the same gameplay (may have changed the bonuses actaully).
If NO...then oh well. GL to the next person who does this.
If YES then cool, what about names? should i use the original style?
I want an answer about this island-theme.

I'd say go with the islands, add another row and then call it something like Conquer Islands and forget the connect four reference even though we'd still be using it for the bonus structure.
And post it as a new topic in map ideas.

I've officially given up on this map, but yeti_c is still responsible for the xml and in charge of the 'project' as far as I'm concerned... so anyone wanting to pick it up should run their ideas by him first.
I don't have any copies of the original artwork, but the following image (from p16) is the closest thing to what I had. So, if I were to have any say I'd vote for something in the same general direction.

me as well. The islands are just a mask of the game to make the graphics look different. It is odd and makes no sense. I say go with the graphic we have here.

I've been craving some creative outlet lately, so I might just come back and give this thing one last try. I'll get to work on it right away and post the results when they're done.
If spinwizard or anyone else wants to continue coming up with alternative options I'm more than happy for that to continue.
