Re: New NHL season
Rangers get one back
Game 7 here we come.
Game 7 here we come.
Re: New NHL season
The worst game of the series for the Rangers and this is the one they actually win, let's hope they play even worse next game so they might win another one.

Another elimination challenge for the Rangers.

I really wish this game wasn't going to double overtime. I might just go to bed.

Kings won all their games at home on overtime, talk about having luck on their side, well the best team is usually also the luckiest, Kings had everything going their way in this finals and so they won it. Not sure why Williams got the nod for Conn Smythe, Kopitar and Gaborik both seemed like more deserving candidates.

Having the most points on the playoffs is a pretty important reason why...

That's the best joke I've heard in a long time.
Well done, refs. Great job. Mission accomplished.
Sure, it's a horrendous black mark on the game, but nobody REALLY cares about integrity anymore, am I right?

The blown call that spotted the Kings a powerplay
and a goal was unfortunate for the series.
What a great series all the same, the Rangers just couldn't catch a break. Three OT games in LA and they didn't win any of them. That Ranger powerplay shot off the iron in the first OT tonight had to be hard on their psyche. I thought it was over and on to Game 6, but NOOO!
Tonight's overtimes were fucking unreal. How close to a goal can you possibly get without scoring and how many times can you do it?

Yeah that's why I thought Kopitar could get it, because he did just that, not Williams. Gaborik scored the most goals which also weighs heavy, not to mention both of them have bigger roles on their team than Williams.

I enjoyed the series. First time in a while I didn't really hate anyone involved, so it made watching easier. In the end though, I just wanted to be right, and naturally I was. Kings in 5.

That puck hit enough pipe on those 2 OT to lay another Alaskan pipeline.

Considering the circumstances... I felt both goalies
were Conn Smythe contenders.

One game does not a Conn Smythe winner make.
Lundqvist probably would have won it if the Rangers won the cup. Quick wasn't really ever a contender - he had a subpar performance in the playoffs but played just well enough to give the Kings a chance. LA gave up way more goals than anyone expected, but the play of Kopitar, Williams, and Gaborik was enough to win the games that Quick was giving away.
I had Kopitar as the odds-on CS favourite, but Williams is a good choice. He always comes up big in clutch moments and led the scoring in the finals. It wasn't like Kopitar and Gaborik were miles ahead in points, Williams was only one behind. I was just glad it wasn't Doughty.
In all though, that was two of the best overtime periods I've watched in a long while.

Even with the 4 - 1 outcome, it was a great series.
