That's alright, I can always do with more reserves (:
Game groupings have been randomised and sent! Please join all 4 games as soon as you read the PM - it does take quite some work to check who hasn't joined certain games!

Re: Around The World In 8 Maps [Round 1]
Update
With two days of play passing by, we have our first result of the tournament coming in. Godd gets first blood with his win over Loose Canon and waauw in Europe, making him the first player to make his mark on the scoreboard with 1 map out of 8 completed. That may soon increase to 2, as he now pulls ahead in his game in North America. Could he possibly get the maximum possible 4 maps in this set alone? That may just happen!
There still are 59 map wins out there to be claimed for this set alone, spread across 45 players. Like I said during the signups phase, I'm really not sure how this format will turn out, so let's hope it isn't over before we even realise what happened! I've a sneaky feeling it might be over in Round 2...

Unfortunately it wasn't enough. Well played.

Managed to luckily win 2. Not sure if my luck will stretch to the other 2 lol.

Re: Around The World In 8 Maps [Round 1]
Update
Sorry for my slow updates, would've done more if I hadn't been on vacation!
Just about 1.5 weeks into the tournament, and 20 different players have put themselves on the scoreboard so far.
Leading the pack is still Godd, who broke away with an early lead, and is still keeping that lead on the rest of the players. All his games are now complete, of which he clinched wins is 3 of them, save for the game on South America, which was taken by SuperWang. SuperWang is one of the 5 players - with C.J, dazza2008, kizkiz and Scorned Woman - who trail just behind the leader with 2 wins each so far.
Many players have yet to make their mark on the scoreboard, but some of them have yet to complete a game, so you never know if someone will come from behind to take all 4 of their games! And remember, the next set of 4 games for Round 1 have yet to be sent out, so nothing is set in stone yet.

Re: Around The World In 8 Maps [Round 1]
Update
As more results trickle in, more players are getting themselves in the game.
D-Rock42 has caught up to tournament leader Godd, both having 3 wins so far. The difference, however, is that D-Rock42 still has yet to complete his last game on Europe, giving him the possibility of notching up a score of 4 map wins by the end of this set.
Meanwhile, the pool of competitors with 2 map wins apiece has doubled from 5 to 10, with more sure to come as the remaining 18 games approach their conclusion. As we're left with close to a quarter of the games for the first set, the second set for Round 1's games will be sent out soon, when I have time to get to it.

Re: Around The World In 8 Maps [Round 1]
Update
Four days of competition have passed, and the number of competitors with 3 map wins so far has jumped from just two to five. Four of these players achieved this purely on their results from Set 1, and what's more, two of them - alaskanassassin and D-Rock42 - still stand a chance of winning all 4 of their games from Set 1 of Round 1.
Godd has once again sprinted ahead of the pack with the coming of Set 2. He notches in his first win there with a win in the Arctic.
Of the 45 players in the tournament, 33 have currently found their way onto the leaderboard. That said, anyone can make a comeback at any time and rack up a stack of wins, so it's not over yet.

Re: Around The World In 8 Maps [Round 1]
Update
With just 22 games of Round 1 remaining active, we are now three quarters of the way through the first round of games (I must stress that the number of games each player has completed does vary rather greatly, though). So far, 39 of the 45 players in the tournament have managed to get their name on the scoreboard, with most players hovering around the 2 to 3 wins region, which should be the case, as the expected number of wins for an average player is 2.67 wins.
But that doesn't mean certain players haven't separated themselves from the pack - Godd, who has been in the lead for the entire tournament, still remains in the lead as the only player with 5 wins thus far. Close behind him are five players with 4 wins apiece - alaskanassassin, iAmCaffeine, overlander, Scorned Woman and Tin Trumpet.
That said, there still are 22 games to be completed, and 22 more wins on the scoreboard can cause lots of changes to happen.
Also, I intend to change the tiebreaker rules. A PM will be sent out to all players at the end of Round 1 if that does happen, as I know most people don't follow tournament threads anyway.
