To be fair, we've all been down that road. I'm partial to a Manchester tart or two- damn the consequences.

No mystery there. Rapeseed is a fine old word. It has nothing to do with the English verb rape; it's derived from the Latin term rapum. Nonetheless, people being the juveniles that they are, some people couldn't get past the superficial similarity in the words. For this reason, the Canadian Rapeseed Growers Association, which spent a lot of money developing new low-acid strains of rape, decided that they needed a new name. They thus coined the term 'canola', which is derived from the words "Canadian" and "oil" (or oleic, to be technical).

Both the development of low-acid strains, and their successful rebranding under a made-up name, are famous success stories in Canada, the one a great success story of agricultural science, the other a great success story of marketing. So, I know the story fairly well...:)

I had to google canola. It's rapeseed oil?

Will never forget asking what something on the table was at a lunch in China one day and being asked if I like rape.

When I make pizza, especially for a party, I include in the basic tomato sauce (1) black olive paste (because I love the taste of olives myself, but dislike the texture)
and (2) anchovy paste because it doesn't taste right without anchovies, but most people won't eat visible anchovies.
I make sure to check if anyone has fish allergies.

Something added to a recent pizza in my local bar (basic margherita) which I hadn't considered adding before, but worked beautifully - a little balsamic reduction.

What if your only choice was to either eat the pussy pizza, or press a button that would kill Symmetry?

I've had that before. I think it's one of those things that works better as a one-off, or occasional thing though. I've got a bottle of the stuff in my fridge- I used it on all kinds of things for about two weeks, then kinda of got fed up with everything tasting like sweet balsamic vinegar.

You'll figure out where the button is when you find a woman who'll tell you, mate. 'Till then, you're stuck with mrsdwk and you can press each others.

Nobody likes a parody account that's outlived its usefulness, Bernie. It's like a desperate attempt to become relevant again:

Now, now Symm, nobody can understand your hatred for another man who shares your love for sausage.

You better hope bigWham doesn't see that post he'll come right to your house and kick you in the balls.

You're lies are going to ruin the site.

I have become nauseous and probably can't finish my sweetcorn, walnut and apricot pizza. Or as Pizza Hut calls it, "The Symmetry Lover's".

This is why you should never try to order pizza using Morse code.

Weirdly enough, this is the second time a weird bit of Sam Morse trivia came up for me today.

What does SOS in Morse code stand for?
