Will I be seeing you, or are you sending Lord Arioch to sleep with the fishes?

I hope to send you Lord Arioch but that remains to be seen. I feel good about 3 of the maps but Arioch has a troop advantage in the other 4. I

I see some of these lopsided results and I'm a bit surprised because my matches have felt like dog fights. Or should I say slug fests.

Bracket updated.

We got a couple results a little quicker than anticipated. Congrats to pranburi for advancing.

New matches between juke/pranburi, Swimmerdude99/Lord Arioch, and aaronvollrath/prismsaber will be forthcoming.

Bracket Updated - April 19

Congrats to Kingm for advancing.

At some point today I'll send out invites for kingm/josko and chanakam2020/kevi.

prismsaber/aaronvollrath postponed until April 24. Thanks to aaronvollrath for working with my schedule.

By the way, to current players and any lurkers, I plan to create a classic-style doubles double elimination tournament similar to this one in a couple weeks so keep an eye out for that if you're interested.

I also think I will win, but is it not a bit premature? like I turned games that I was behind even more then chanakam is behind in a few of those you have given me, but I have not checked after the last turn yet, so maybe he has said GG?

When declaring a winner on a map I look for a 2 to 1 power score. Sometimes I'll pick a winner if the ratio is less than that IF there is a large difference in reinforcements. For example, your ratio in High Seas is less than 2 to 1 but you have eliminated blue and have protected your only vulnerable color (pink) so that it would be nearly impossible for chanakam to win that game. I declare the winners a bit early to keep things moving because I don't really want to run a 6 month+ tournament. That being said I have asked myself what if I'm wrong...well somehow, I would have to make that right. But hopefully that won't happen.

The doubles tournament sounds fun. I'd need to find a victim partner.

It's about to slow down more to your liking after this round. If you check the bracket, those who made it to Upper Bracket Round 3 will effectively get a bye. And the more time spent in the Upper Bracket the more byes you get. Those already in the Lower Bracket will have to win series after series with little to no downtime. Hopefully it will make for an epic run for someone.

We will let singles sign up and create pairs if both sides are willing.

Heck I myself might not have a partner unless I can coax one of my old friends like Agonzos out of retirement.

If you're feeling froggy and interested in partnering, I might be good for it!

I rolled the next group of maps.

Upper Bracket Semifinals/Lower Bracket Round 3 Maps
Caribbean Islands (3)
Arctic (3)
Macedonia (3)
World 2.1 (4)
Europe (4)
British Isles (2)
Quad Cities (3)

Europe (4) is our first repeat. We've done Arctic before but with (4), not (3). World 2.1 is the largest map in the pool and could single-handedly delay the next round if we get a tight game. I wonder if we'll get Classic before the end?

May 8 Update

The upper bracket finals will begin shortly - prismsaber vs kingm. The winner of that locks up a spot in the Grand Finals and will have a significant advantage in that final series.

Here's an update to say that there's really no update.

All matches in full swing.

prismsaber/kingm - winner goes to the Grand Finals. Loser goes to the Lower Bracket Finals.
juke/chanakam2020 - winner faces aaronvollrath
Swimmerdude99/j1mathman - winner faces josko.ri

Just a note: the internet cable to my house was severed during a recent storm so there might be a delay in starting the next round of games until it is repaired. I can barely function on mobile in my current games let alone create a bunch of new ones and check over results, etc.

Congrats to j1mathman and chanakam2020 for advancing.

We have our first rematch with j1mathman and josko.ri. This time the stakes are higher as it's an elimination match.

Chanakam2020 will face aaronvollrath; not a rematch but should be a good one all the same.

The maps are as follows:
Midkemdil (2)
Charleston (3)
Iceland (3)
Oceania (2)
Great lakes (4)
Puget sound (2)
Middle east (3)

Invites forthcoming within the day I hope.

Bracket Update May 30

We have an official result, so I updated the bracket. Otherwise, not much change. It will be several more days before the josko/j1mathman and chanakam/aaron matches are determined.
