I remember when I was first here. It was like, now ago. I'm guessing they got lives instead of devoting their souls to a pointless yet fun game

This thread has shown me two things. 1. Even in 2006, their were fears about players leaving and CC declining. 2. Hit the link on the 20th post (from Wicked) and look at what may well be the first forum post ever, or at least the earliest surviving... of course, it's locked now.

Of the people on the first page, most are gone, but two are still with us: KoolBak and AndyDufresne, though Andy is becoming a rare sighting.

I can see that thread just fine...?
And yes, I get the award for dedication thanks dukky for the shout out!
Cc was NOT declining then.... it was ramping up quickly. He was just asking about folks that came on for a few months, were active, and left. Site was young and so was he.... lol.
Nice interpretation tho....
Ps.... weird.... Ham wasva longtime xi member. His profile says he logged on just 6 days ago! Haft shoot a pm to try and catch him......

Yes, we can see it but we can't give it the bump of life. Without the possibility of vivo-bumping a thread may indeed be called 'dead'.

Don't try to steal my line, loser-whore llamsagna. The actual phase is: 'Greetings from a Dead Man''.
Watch it now, folks. Your Masters might not let you later.

Perhaps, I shall be killed soon... I'm hardly clueless about the ban-assassins and character-assassins that run amok on GC and the forums. but llamo is just a low-minded crook pushing ciggies, whorishness and hopelessness on the next generation. If he represents CC's model player of the future, woe to us all.
..and again, a Greeting that may also serve as a Farewell. To the past, or to the future. To an age when thought is free. From the Age of Big Brother, from the Age of the Thought Police, from a dead man... greetings.

I guess I must be thicke..... so thor, you bump a thread by interpreting it wrong and add a negative spin. I try to explain the truth, as I was there, and I believe you reply with another nasty comment? Correct me if I'm wrong....I hope I am.
If I'm not, this is helping the site how exactly? Just increasing post numbers isn't a positive thing if its a negative experience, imho. Course, I've managed to stay married 30 years with that mindset, so......

No, it's you who see everything as 'wrong', 'negative', and 'nasty'. maybe try reading my posts with a little less bias and hostile prejudice. I just brought up that people were concerned about players leaving back in 2006, regardless of overall numbers. The numbers are smaller now, but there is still no need for panicked reactions... imho. The other thread, lackattack's original thread, is indeed locked, and that makes it hard to even find. I was performing another service by bringing it to the attention of players in the modern day.
That's the same thread I go to by clicking the original... weird?

Good job, ThorT, on bringing this up from the bowels of the CC basement. It is a part of history that NEEDS to be saved and raised to an appropriately AUGUST level.
