Well, it isnt too bad if i can put the mountains in between Vaud and Bern...I was hoping to close off the Sion/Brig border, but if there's no way to do that while keeping the actual geography of Switzerland, then it isnt worth it.

I like the new way you did the river, however I think it's not so clear where you can cross or not. And I think you should transform the Neuchâtel lake in just a river as it allways looked strange to me. If you want to "protect" Romandie a bit more you can add a forest between Jura and Bienne.

I'm still wondering what's up with the dots at the bases of most of mountains.

But I love the look!

well hard to say. problem is not often do people look at a map's gameplay as a whole. you can understand why as it's not easy like "these continent has 4 territories and 2 borders, it shouldn't be +3".

I'd say it's not good in that you have 4 continents with 4 or more border territories and 1 with 2 borders. doesn't seem like holding areas will come easily save the one and if someone does hold it, they have quite the advantage.

the yellow area should be +4 and the grey +5 btw.

Like I've said before, I wish the red and grey areas weren't as they are. I wish there was a north/south split instead of what you've currently got (give brig to red and give Neuchatel and Jura to grey creating a +3 area in Red). But, if that's not a real-life split not much you can do.

if you make the yellow/grey bonus switch as I've said then each individual continent will be basically correct bonus wise but I don't think they'll work particularly well in making a fun map. But, I'm only one guy and without actually playing on it, you can't really say for sure. If possible bring a few of your RL friends together and play a couple test games on it. Ideally this should be done for every map but I'm not naive and I realize this is not possible in 95% of the cases.

So here's where we are atm (i have a small on the page b4)

Honestly, i dont really have the time to make any major gameplay changes and if i were to make these changes they would probably not fit the geography of Switzerland very well.

I understand ed's concern, but idk wat to do, and if i did i wouldnt have the time to do it :(

Also, if this ever gets to FF, i dont have the time atm to write xml....

With the combination of long Track practices/meets (also, with this whole new "my only friends are the ones who are on track" i tend to hang out with them more :P time consuming stuff, ya know?) and the combination of writing lengthy essays about European History have really taken away from any free time that I had last year.

well you already have the gameplay stamp

something to consider. reduce green to 3 borders by extending that river and redrawing the border from Schwyz to Glarus. No idea about the real geography there but if you can make Schwyz a non-border territory then green would be a +3 area which makes more sense I'd say.

I dont get how this is not in FF by now. It looks to me like it has everything it needs, except for the graphix stamp, which I dont understand why it doesnt have it by now, it looks excellent in my opinion.

Wow... This map looks heaps better than I remember - it's much improved since I last checked in on it!

I have to admit that I'm not sold on the purple colour behind the mountains, and the lake looks slightly superimposed. That is really the only criticism I can level at the graphics... Good work!

This map is really coming on, I'm quite looking forward to playing this!
Keep up the good work Kap!

BTW, how did you do the smudged effect with the colours? That looks really good!

I would guess the blur tool, but I'm interested, too. However, (apparently) Kap left the site so I'm wondering where this map'll go.

I'm considering it.
I don't really want to work on gameplay, but I like the graphics. But you have the GP stamp already, so I guess gameplay is ok.
I'll try and talk to you tomorrow about this map.

wcac, I'd be happy to handle anything else about the GP and do the XML, too, if you wanna work together on it.

just a personal opinion. for me the version 40 looks better than the last one.. i don't like this hand draw style.. but i don't know nothing about the story of this map, so don't mind if it's a stupid suggest. ;)
