You're right, Shannon. They do all have distinct personalities. I haven't had one since childhood since my husband dislikes cats. As a child I had tons. One I was particularly fond of was playful and loving and best friends with our bunny (though the bunny wanted more than friendship). Another, a Siamese, was very feisty and fearless. Our doberman ran away from her. Another tiger cat was a complete slut. She would come home every few months pregnant, and she had huge batches of 7 or 8 kittens. My dad hated her. We were too poor to spay our cats.

A few months ago I visited my sister who owns a fat lazy cat who is very shy. She came out one night when I was up late by myself and we made friends. I was amazed that I'd forgotten how comforting cats can be and what wonderful company they are. Alas, I'll probably never own another one myself (except electronically since we have catnipdreams & now tinkerbell).

Finally this thread gets back on topic. After the return of khaza thread became all about stroking pussy for a couple of pages. <doths hat to khaza who exceeds Bogan in lowering tone of conversation skills>


Remember when I was a child in the Solomon Islands. Only 1 vet in the entire country and was on the other big island. 3hrs by small plane away. My sister had a tom cat, and in an attempt to be responsible....... Misguided attempt me thinks. Resolved to get the tom neutered. Parents ran a mission hospital. The vet sent photocopies of feline anatomy texts and dosage tables in on the weekly medicine/mail plane. Everything in english(not merican) so metric measurements. Visiting american surgical intern did the cutting. His conversion skills between mL and fluid ounces were not as good as could be desired. Operation was a success. Cat was stoned off it's chops for two and half days, couldn't coordinate all four legs, pivoting from side to side like a sea sick fat girl with saddle sores. Poor cat had to walk around the edge of the room leaning on the wall. All the while with a most un cat like look of pure vacant minded enjoyment on it's face.
When cat was fully in control of it's limbs, pissed on the interns bed. Anyone that suggests animals are not intuitive or capable of revenge is kidding themselves.

We've had a few losses (more than just cache), but we did manage to keep Denise after all, and CoF is here longer than expected, plus we've more than replaced our losses and looking forward to the next challenge. Thanks for the concern.
