For now, there are not many reports coming in of abuse. as such, we are puting the search for a grievance mod on hold for the time being.
I will hold all applications indefinately and will contact those interested again in the future.
Thanks

Twill wrote:As with the other positions, we are now looking for a grievance moderator.
This mod's job would be to wade through the often funny, but sometimes inappropriate grievances left.
Once the Mod is chosen, we will issue guidelines for grievances along which they will do their job, but basically - no overly offensive language, no revenge grievances, and nothing petty (i.e. "they take 20 minutes to take their turn" or "they chose the colour yellow, yellow is for losers")
If you are intersted, please PM me and let me know why you want, why you would be good and roughly how much time you can commit to it.

was this position ever filled, and if so, what is the title of that person now? if it hasn't been filled, is this something you are going to look into again? sounds like a good idea... is this what C&A is now? just a really interesting concept and wondering how/if it was ever implemented into the site... i see more and more grievances posted that don't really fit into C&A or any other sub forum, so just wondering about this... thanks...-6cd

owen, that looks like someone to deal with the etickets for the old and now defunct feedback system. I guess the position is no longer needed.

Owen, this topic does refer to having someone in charge of complaints, but some one to moderate the grievance system which was the precursor to the feedback system which was the precursor to the ratings system. It was kind of like feedback but only allowed negatives. Lancehoch, this was before e-tickets existed.
That being said you point about having somebody in charge of complaints isn't necessarily a bad idea.

9 times out of 10 that
should be the response. Too many folks whine about insignificant things around here.

seriously, it is interesting. why? this week you had a guy complaining about a PM he received insulting his country and origin, and nothing was done to the offender... if you heard what the pm's said, and the explaination from the member complaining, the offender should have received disciplinary measures. a few weeks prior, a member was accussed of using a friends account to pm someon on his foe list that he was a dick. no real evidence was found, and the alleged offender received a 6 day ban. both "grievances" were not game related and could have been solved by a level headed, intelligent, impartial grievance moderator. to top it off, as it is now, things occur between members, and members are told to "avoid each other" and to not "contact each other", and to stay out of games that each is in. this doesn't really solve anything and leads to further clashes between members in threads, sub forums, etc... a grievance moderator or two would well serve the community, and resolve a lot of garbage that goes on and perpetuates because there is no real process to deal with it. SUCK IT UP CUPCAKE!!!...-6cd

My first question goes to Mustard...
Mustard, what would you do if someone left me all 3 stars? Quite clearly, I am not average, so this clearly violates my right to play without grievance.

I would advise you to solicit that player to withdraw the rating, or failing that, to get all of your CC friends/multis to solicit that plyaer to withdraw the rating.
Should that not be sufficient, I would counsel you to place that player upon your ignore list and seek more intelligent/sycophantic players in the future.
I would then pat myself on the back and regard myself as an asset to this site.
