Greatest Comebacks

Post by ViperOverLord »

I've had some good comebacks, but nothing that has left me in disbelief. And nothing that I made a note of.

Has anyone been on either end of an amazing comeback? Tell us about it.

Don't know if this is anything major, but in a 4 player on Cairns Metro, i was down to 2 territories left, and one player owned half the map. I managed to come back and win the game

ok... im playing 8 man freestyle escalating speed game. i had the game. it was mine. i had like 200 armies to kill 60 for another 4 cards or something... but some guy decides to have fun and suicide his 30 into my 200... somehow he won that battle.... or killed a large majority of my stack. it was a long time ago. i just remember i lost because of it and it made me incredibly mad.

People have come back against me and won not because any great strategy on their part, just because of major differences in dice rolls.

One game I remember in particular, there was 3 players left. One only had a handful of territories and had stopped logging on, the other had about a quarter of the troops I had and a third of the territories. I proceeded to eliminate the third player and get his cards and I lost like 25 troops taking 5 1s and couldn't take the last terr. The other guy logged on, cashed in top set with three cards, he had to go through a bunch of my territories to eliminate the third player(it was a terminator game, I think he suspected that I was going to win anyway, so he was just trying to get some points), in the process if he lost 3 armies max he would have failed, going through maybe ten territores with more than one army on several territories he succeeded. Next turn I lost another big stack of 20 odd armies taking like a 3 and three 1s. He got to cash in another set, rolled more miracles, etc.

Unfucknreal, it was over a year ago and I'm still pissed about it. :D

1 country left with 2 armies. Game was flat rate. About 3 years ago. Nobody deadbeated either. Classic map and I had Ural. I just attacked one country at a time until I got a bonus and eventually won. I dont feel like looking up the game number.

aww, you could find it.. you've only played 570 classic flat rate games
but if we assume this was not 1v1 or a team game, then the field narrows down to only 53 games

i'd love to see that game, and see what became of those opponents

well, you only have 6 wins playing classic, flat, std, 6p...
and no indication in any of those that you came back from the brink of extinction,
so i'll just assume it's another JR24 exaggeration

Well think about it. "1 country left with 2 armies." All the rest he owned probably had 10 or so armies in them.

I remember being down to 1 army, in a 1v1, no cards, on Ireland, when the dice turned horribly on my opponent, and I was able to come back to win. I just looked for it, and couldn't seem to find it, so maybe I'm just imagining things.

I dont recall the game numbers, but i was left with 1 man twice and won.

One was a no spoils game i think, the other it was with cards but flat rate or was escalating but i was left with 1 army very early when cashes were worht like 6-8. I'll try to find the game numbers, but I surely enjoyed winning those games.
