Nerds (yes, you),
Anyone have any favorite novels in the genres of science fiction and/or fantasy you'd like to recommend? Just looking to keep adding to my library.

Some of it.
Yeah, maybe I should have prefaced by saying what I've read. I'll put together a list.

Vampire Earth Series
Ender Series (actually 2 sets of series with different protaganists, but same characters)
Dragon's Wild Series
Halo Books
Starcraft Books

Most series by Piers Anthony are tremendous for the first couple of novels. After that, he tends to run on and on and it becomes more difficult to stomach with each one that comes out. But his first few of each series are wonderful. Specifically of his, I would roundly recommend the "Blue Adept" series and the "Incarnations of Immortality" series...both are wonderful. If you don't mind silly pun-driven stuff, his first couple of Xanth books are also great.
Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein and Greg Bear, of course...but you've probably already looked into those.
Hmmm...man, I'm getting old...having trouble dredging up my other favorites at the moment.

Read the Enders series. Not sure about the first two. I'm kind of skeptical about novels about video games.

Added to my list. I think I've read something of Brust's, but I can't remember what it is now.

The novels (the first ones anyways) lead upto and tell the events of the first Halo game and following the first game as well. They are actually pretty good.

Ah yes, I definitely second the Stephen Brust recommendation and the Spellsinger recommendation.
Also, I thought of another one...I think it was just called "The Swords Trilogy", though that seems awfully generic so it might not be right and I can't seem to remember the author. Read it AGES ago, but loved it. Nope, I just did a websearch, and it's not the series by Michael Moorcock. It was about three specific swords that apparently had "powers" or were "alive" or somesuch. Fascinating series...darn it.
Also, if you like dragons, the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey was pretty good, as well.

Freaking loved it. More British comedy than sci fi.

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, by Stephen Donaldson, one on the best examples of an anti-hero in my opinion.

Chronicles of Narnia.
More kid oriented, but still a good read.
