Clans
i want to know how many of our conquerclubers are part of a clan. I mean, come on, we have over 8 thousand people! Most should know what a clan is by now. Then again, most just play the game and dont post.

that state of events is most queer, I concur. The average person would be able to find the add option button, but I guess you're not average.

i pressed the add option button and i did have 4 options in my post. but when i clicked submit, it only showed 3. I cant edit it either

Clan advantage
I am interested in starting a clan with the group of friends I joined the site with... What are the advantages to being in a clan? Can any existing clan members enlighten me? Is it an equivalent to being in a family in a mafia game site?
there's something i don't get about the clans here.....as far as i can see there's no clan table? clans don't seem to play each other (or at least its not visible) so whats the point of having clans when they're not playing against each other to move up a clan table? i don't get it, seems the only thing its good for is having a private forum.
We use our forum to arrange internal games. And internal tourneys. And we have created a project open to other players. And yes, we play against other clans.
A suggestion: go to Game Finder, and search games with me, private or tournament games. Except for some Elite games, most games (at least the ones with # 46K and over) were Dragoons games, internal games or not. You will understand that our clan is for those that want action.

A group of us homebrewers got together and formed a clan. Now, instead of cannibalizing points off each other, we are taking points from other clans and unaffiliated CC members. It also helps when you're trying to form up a doubles or triples game. You have a pool of people you have played with before and can count on. In addition, you get a forum for the clan, and a fruit basket from CC.

aaauuuuu i was looking forward to that fruit basket
anyway i play chess at http://www.redhotpawn.com and if you check out their clan system it has a clan table with point awarded for each clan challenge win, maybe something like that should be brought into cc. i like the fact you need 6 members before you can start a clan (in redhotpawn anyone can start a clan resulting in loads on 1 man clans) but thats all i can see thats good about cc clans. (both sites have private forums)
there would be a lot more taunting and bashing other clans is there was some sort of record of clan matches. much more interesting.

they are full of gd people and its the best thing that u can hav on this site except premget prem and join a gd clan, thats wat i would urge all people to do
dragoons kick ass, but i was a member of a few other clans before that, and frankly most of the clans with lower ranked ppl sucked with lots of inactivity and laziness, at least the ones that i have been in.

I love that idea. Because as of right now I agree with your feeling that the clans here are pretty much pointless. Yes it allows you to have private games and a group of friends but I think you can have that without joining a clan.
However creating a type of ranking system for the various clans would give a purpose to the groupings and I think it would make things more interesting. It won't be as important as the individual scoreboard but I think some people would like the challenge of grouping together to try and knock off the top current clan.

i wouldnt go that far, but im a clan hwh dropped out of, and havent seen them do anything, but i dont pay attention anymore either, for all i know they're better than the staches....
