Map Surveyors Signature Contest

Post by MrBenn »

The Result!

MrBenn wrote:Right-o, let me get down to the serious business of announcing the other lucky winners of premium...

There were 21 entries, which are listed in the 2nd post of the thread. The random number generator at random.org picked number 1, which means dolomite13 gets a bonus 3m premium.

There are currently 71 members of the Map Surveyors Group. The random number generator at random.org picked number 57, and by my counting, that means Leehar also gets a bonus 3m premium.

Many thanks to all of those who took part; and congratulations once again to Sir.Ricco for creating the winning entry.

Please feel free to wear any of the submitted signatures - In one month's time I will be giving a further 3m bonus premium to a random CCer who I have seen wearing a Map Surveyors Signature, and will be conducting another premium lottery for a random member of the usergroup. If you choose to sport the winning signature, please use the following code which embeds a hyperlink:

Many thanks once again, and congratulations to all who took part =D>

===============================================

Ahoy Conquer Clubbers!

To help publicise the launch of the Map Surveyors Usergroup (a Foundry update/subscription group announced in this thread), it has been decided to launch a contest for the creation of a signature banner for use on the CC forums.

To take part, all you need to do is to create a banner image (500 pixels wide and 120 pixels high) that advertises the group, upload it to a webhost (a site such as photobucket.com or imageshack), and then post in this thread with your image attached (by putting the direct image link inside tags).

Once you have submitted an entry, please feel free to join the Map Surveyors Usergroup (although this is not a condition of entry to the contest).

On September 15th 2010, the Foundry Foreman will select a shortlist of three signatures, and present these to the incumbents of Live Chat for a vote to select the winning entry.

The winner will receive an Official CC Contest Medal, and six months premium membership.

I forgot to mention that there are more ways to get your hands on some free premium...

At the close of the contest:
  • One entrant will be selected at random to receive three months premium membership.
  • One member of the Map Surveyors Usergroup will be selected at random to receive three months premium membership.

[spoiler=Competition Terms and Conditions of Entry]1. The Competition is organised by the Foundry Foreman on behalf of the Foundry Moderators
2. The Foundry Foreman reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition, the Competition Notice or these Rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted either within the Competition Notice or these Rules. A copy of the Rules may not be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to anywhere.
3. In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, Competition Notice, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a Competition, the decision of the Foundry Foreman shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
4. To qualify to enter the Competition you must be a member of Conquer Club.
5. The Foundry Foreman assumes that by entering the Competition either you have legal capacity to enter the Competition and agree to the Rules (i.e. that you are of sufficient age and mental capacity) or your parents have consented to your entry of the Competition and use of these Rules.
6. The Foundry Foreman reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if he has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions.
7. Competition entries must be made in the manner and by the closing date specified on the Competition Notice. Failure to do so will disqualify the entry.
8. Proof of posting cannot be accepted as proof of delivery. The Foundry Foreman cannot accept responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside his control.
9. Prize winners will be chosen at random unless specified otherwise in the Competition Notice, from all qualifying entries within 28 days of the closing date specified in the Competition Notice.
10. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash, premium or credit alternative. The Foundry Foreman reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
11. Prizes are awarded at the Foundry Foreman's discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant.
12. The Foundry Foreman cannot accept any responsibility for any death, damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize. The Foundry Foreman is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Competition.

Sweet idea! The contest winner could actually win 12 months premium if he's really really really lucky...

Nice contest ... if anyone is feeling like sharing the warmth and is willing to donate a sig for the map explorers group then please PM me - we need one. :D

Sorry for the partial thread-hijack - I was just thinking a sig someone works on but decides not to submit might do the trick for us.

Rules didn't specify only one entry per member :D

But if Mr Benn wants to adopt that rule I will kindly remove my first entry :(

It's good to see so many entires in such a short space of time!

As for multiple entries per person, I'm not against it, as long as people don't go crazy over it - to keep things fair, I will shortlist entries from different contributors.

Thanks,
though simple is usually the hardest to pull off, we'll see how it does against some of the more involved sigs. :)
