What size is your monitor?

Post by MrBenn »

In order to help gauge the screen sizes that people use, I'd be grateful if people could vote in the above poll - the results may help me put forward a renewed case for allowing bigger large maps...

For those who don't know how to count pixels, please use the attached sizing guide:
Image

If your monitor is a non-standard size, then please select the closest width (first number). I've allowed three options per user, as I'm guessing most people access the internet from a couple of locations (ie home/school/work, etc). If they're all the same size, or you only use one computer, feel free to only select one option :P

PS. Please feel free to boast/complain about the size of your VDU as you see fit...

There have been previous similar threads in GD previously...

Besides, I thought it would be prudent to sample a wider cross-section of CC than those who only come to worship at my temple... - the blue jesus

I do not see the most size there. 1280 x 1024. That is what I am at and many others I know. And just a quick note... use big image please so your medals do not hide part of the image.

If you make bigger maps, you should move the menu on the left to the top. Uses more space than it really needs.

Big ass. My monitor is bigass. Or, alternatively, 21 in.

Did you mean what size resolution I'm using?

You should add 1280x1024, like mine is.

Also known as 17".

I've got 2 24" 1920x1080 monitors. Yeah, my gaming rig is a little big.

I've always found 1440 x 900 to be a seriously weird resolution. It has more horizontal resolution than 1280x1k but less of the vertical... :-s

Know what? I hereby declare 1440 x 900 non-canon!

It's a widescreen resolution. Furthermore it's 16:10, and not 16:9 (which some use).

I agree that there is potentially plenty of space of there were changes to the UI. Unfortunately I am not aware of any impending changes to it, although would happily support a suggestion to create more space for maps should somebody make one...

One thing I've noticed is that Cc is always aligned to the left of the screen, rather than being centred on it. I only notice this when using the laptop.

Left one is 15.4" laptop == 1280x800
Right one 22" samsung - 1680x1050

I can work on 2 monitors and watch movies on a 22" with HD quality. Awesome :p.
