Not finding a post on this so it must be obvious and I'm just not seeing it:
In the game position postings in my classroom, I see territory designations such as "A4" and "N5." How do I determine the short designation of a territory on the map?

I see now that it's a feature of the Classic map, not a feature of the game at large.

Actually it is a special feature that only us in the SoC have. So tell all your friends, we have secrets.
