[CC2]-THOTA vs. BPB [24-17 of 41] THOTA WIN Final

Posted: Tue Apr 26, 2011 4:59 pm
by Big Whiskey
[spoiler=Rules]The play-in clan wars (games before the final 16) as well as the first round of the Conqueror's Cup will use the following format:

    - 41 total games
    - 12 doubles
    - 14 triples
    - 14 quads
    - Each clan member can only participate in 15 games per clan war
    - Each clan will pick the map and settings for exactly half of the games
    - The 41st game will be Quads on World 2.1, sunny, chained, no spoils
    - Each map can only be used twice per clan per clan war but can only be used once per game type (i.e. once for triples and once for quads)
    - There will be no freestyle, speed, manual deployments, beta maps, or nuclear spoils games allowed

Any players can play in the tie-breaker games in the semi finals and finals even if they have already played in their allotted number of games for that clan war, however, no player can play in more than 2 of the games. Maps cannot be reused in the tie breaker games.

As was allowed last year, each clan war can adjust the rules slightly to their liking if both clans agree on the adjusted rules before any games are started and they get my approval.

Remember, all dates mentioned mean the games must be sent by the end of that day

The answer is already THOTA making up stupid rules...."in a fog game, you have wait 12 hours before the first turn". Stupidest shit ever. Isn't the point of fog that you can't see the whole board?

its stupid to bitch about it after ur clan made 1 foggy game in this challenge and judging by ur last sentence u dont even understand whats it all about

ppl use it in challenges, tourneys and even in public games so I guess this rule does make sense and if u got a problem with it, theres a lot of sunny home games u can join. we'll even make some of our games sunny just for u ;)

Don't accept it. KORT offered the same to us, but we wanted it to be a "gentleman's agreement" instead of a hard rule. The only rules you have to abide by are Chuuuuuck's rules, and this is not one of them.

If BPB doesn't want the rule, then you are not forced to take it. Let it be up to THOTA to risk making foggy games with the chance they may not see the full board first. Just make sure they join their home games before you do... as they are supposed to.

and what would be more gentlemanly then letting ur opponent see the board b4 u attack him?

We agreed to the "gentleman's agreement". Just didn't want it to be a hard rule and risk being forced to forfeit if someone messed up.

My opinion is that's the risk you take when you make home foggy games. But I'll wait to play if asked, as KORT has done.

I dont remember anybody forfeiting anything, we're all only human, mistakes happen, I dont see why would anybody need to forfeit if u tell ur opponents what were the lands u attacked, not like u can lie about it when its all visible when game ends

its a gentlemanly rule, a great example of fair play, u guys cant find any argument against it ;)

The argument against it....try IT ISN'T PART OF THE GAME. Otherwise Lack would have coded it that way, when he implemented the fog feature.

And Nikolai, thanks a lot for explaining this. I just deadbeatted out of 20 foggy speed games, since I figured I had 12 hours to look at the map. (See how dumb that sounds?)

I am not the leader or contact for BpB. Otherwise I wouldn't have accepted the stupidity. I am surprised there isn't a "wait 30 days for our cheating leader to come back" rule request.

The fog "rule" is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. What will you all do if you're ever trapped on a desert island without your precious snapshots? If the only way to get food and water was to play Risk, you would all perish.

Merged the Thota vs BPB posts with the Thota vs BPB thread.

There is nothing wrong with the 12 hour fog rule. If you don't like it, don't agree to it or don't play foggy games.
