asia map
ok I would like to make a formal complaint. To me it seems like on the map that I would be able to attack Irkusk from Sinkiang, Do you agree?

It does appear that it can attack it, but it doesn't. This map is one of the oldest on the site, and I am not sure if a revamp of the map is going to be done to fix it.

Re: asia map
A revamp for Asia has been suggested many times, but the suggestion has been rejected so far.

Re: asia map
Perhaps this topic could be merged into the Viewing Gallery topic for the map.

Re: asia map
One thing I noticed with the FAR EAST map was it doesn't specifically tell you which bonus area its referring to when it says "SIAM 4" - the mapmaker just made the rash assumption that people knew their geography.

Re: asia map
The Asia (or Far East) map is one of the first map of CC. I know there're some unclear things on that map, but we must live with it as it is now.
I think that for lackattack - the webmaster - this map is like the Number One for Scrooge McDuck. It's just a coin, but it is the first coin Scrooge gained for his work.
I'd like to imagine Lack, in front of his computer, looking at the map and, with a big turtle smile on his face, remember where all this great and special CC thing has started.
What I'd suggest is to look at this map in the same way I do it: I like to see it as the visible evidence of the importance of the foundry process and how this process has brought us to the creation of better and more friendly maps, day after day. On the long term, we can understand how important is the time, the dedication, the efforts and the attention to details that our Dear Mapmakers put in their projects and it also explains why sometimes the CAs must play the bad guy role "pissing" people on details that would seem unnecessary.

Re: asia map
Mmm... right. Except Scrooge McDuck puts his first coin in a museum or picture frame or something and doesn't let it get mixed up with the general population in that coin swimming pool thing of his.
