Why does CC not post a disclaimer?

Post by HighlanderAttack »

I really feel this should be posted in big letters:

If you are going to use auto attack prepared to be screwed

Why are so many players afraid to used auto attack?

Curious to hear players views on auto attack

I myself use it all the time--but I do fear it--I dont have time to tap tap tap---It does amaze me when u run into a 3 with a 20 for example and it takes the 3 and leaves you with 4.

It is also fun to run the really big stacks into each other like 100v100 and end up with 40 left over.

It is just crazy sometimes.

Sometimes - most of the time I have time to tap-tap-tap. I often stop attacks if I see I cannot get the player anymore - why bother and give his head to the next player while weakening yourself for no apparent reason?

generally only when i have a big lead and go through singles on a territory
much prefer to attack roll by roll...read the situation...too many times have i seen guys lose a stack vs a 2,3,4 from autoing. When they could of stopped and still maintained an advantage

i always use auto attack... most of the time ;-)
with stacks bigger then 100-100 always.
when i am facing smaller stack sometimes. I have no problem with auto though. If the dice screw me, they will also screw me on something else then auto...

I would say that over 70% of players that regularly play on this site truly think they are going to get screwed by auto attacking any large stack into a small stack

rarely use it. it sucks. yes, if dice are gonna screw you they are gonna screw you any way you attack. HOWEVER, if you are manually attacking, not auto, you have the chance to STOP and save some troops.

I will use auto, however sometimes it is nice to have a measure of control. Any system that will allow me to put in troops i want to risk or e.g. say how often i want to attack with 0 being all automaticly would be used by me.
Sometimes i want to be able to pull back out of an attack. But overall i like the auto- it saves time.. a lot of time

I guess I don't worry about stopping--If I have an "advantage attack" I am attacking all the way either by auto (most of the time) or by tapping.

its not that i think the dice are different or anything of the sorts...
I just want a measure of control if things get out of hand

I live and die with the auto attack. I find that if i am getting bad roles on single attacks, switching to auto sometimes seems to improve the rolls. I would say 75% of the time i auto, even smaller stacks as well.

Yes..speed games I auto-assault more than anything else. With 5 seconds left, you don't have time for tap-tap-tap.

Most of the speeders I play are freestyle, by the way. If they weren't, waiting for 5 seconds wouldn't make sense. Right..

i only use it at the end of games when it is over. otherwise, i like to keep control of situations and to be able to stop when i feel things aren't going quite so well...-el Jesus negro

I as well usually use it when games are essentially over. Otherwise...I get wary!

I never used auto when I first came just cause I didn't know what it was. Then a friend of mine showed me what it was (Zokaxlord) and then I used it all the time. In fact, the only time I don't use it is when I accidentily left click instead of right click.
I have no fear of auto. I telepathecally control the dice, so the only time I lose is when the other player has a stronger mental telepathy than I do (you know i'M JUST KIDDING, RIGHT?)
But yeah I use auto all the time

If the dice are going to kill you, they'll kill you. i almost always auto if I intend to take a territory(rather than damage) sometimes you get screwed but sometimes you get screwed all over the place, welcome to risk... CC or not.

I use to auto alot, but nowadays only for larger stacks. Maps like City Mogul i auto a ton, and run into wacky situations; but i've become less agressive on the autoing as i've matured ;)

I use it every time I intend on conquering the region. If I'm just looking to trim, I do it manually.

It does happen. I lost 13-3 last night in a critical situation and I've been kicking myself ever since. Still, I probably would have lost them even if I had gone one click at a time. Would I have stopped when I got down to 5 troops? Maybe. Or maybe I would have said, "Oh, my luck has to change at SOME point!"

Auto-user equals likely premature ejaculator.

You know it makes sense.

'Tap, tap, tap...'

'Diddle, diddle, diddle...'

Remind me to regale you all, at a later date, with my theory on how freestyle foggy players were almost certainly sexually attracted to a cousin, or other close(ish) relative, at some point in their adolescence.

Really...that one is absolutely 100% bang on.

In escalating 6-8 man, using auto attack is usually reserved for the end of a sweep. If you use it too soon, it can leave you and your target weakened enough to be easy pickings. In team games, I always use it if conquering a region, otherwise I individually attack to trim stacks.
