I’ve seen many match play tournaments pattered around golf, but never a stroke play format.

Here are the rules:

The Course
1st Hole – Par 4 – Classic (basic_man2010_20)
2nd Hole – Par 4 – Arms Race (Leitz)
3rd Hole – Par 3 – Doodle Earth (dazza2008)
4th Hole – Par 5 – World 2.1 (rubenschtorm)
5th Hole – Par 4 – Brazil (barneythedog)
6th Hole – Par 4 – France (Marshallbobby)
7th Hole – Par 3 – Luxemborg (deantursx)
8th Hole – Par 5 – Conquer Man (DarthFrog)
9th Hole – Par 4 – Iberia (Jester1974)
10th Hole – Par 3 – USA West (Jimmy V)
11th Hole – Par 5 – Das Schloss (Faro)
12th Hole – Par 4 – Lunar War (totalacid1)
13th Hole – Par 4 – North America (Gen. Ramsarelli)
14th Hole – Par 4 – USA (rjhankey)
15th Hole – Par 3 – Cyprus (darkbluesky)
16th Hole – Par 5 – Hive (DarthFrog)
17th Hole – Par 4 – WWII Western Front (scottishleaf)
18th Hole – Par 4 – Asia (ParadiceCity9)

All holes will be sequential, sunny, manual deploy, escalating spoils and unlimited reinforcements

Holes will be manned by a volunteer. Each volunteer will play every golfer on his hole. Volunteers are not able to win the tournament, but ARE able to win a general achievement medal (see below)

Scoring for golfers

Par 3 Holes
- Win in 5 rounds or less = Birdie
- Win in 6+ rounds = Par
- Lose in 5 rounds or less = Double Bogey
- Lose in 6-10 rounds = Bogey
- Loes in11+ rounds = Par

Par 4 Holes
- Win in 5 rounds or less = Eagle
- Win in 6-10 rounds = Birdie
- Win in 11+ rounds = Par
- Lose in 5 rounds or less = Double Bogey
- Lose in 6-15 rounds = Bogey
- Lose in 16+ rounds = Par

Par 5 Holes
- Win in 10 rounds or less = Eagle
- Win in 11-20 rounds = Birdie
- Win in 20+ rounds = Par
- Lose in 10 rounds or less = Double Bogey
- Lose in 11-20 rounds = Bogey
- Lose in 20+ rounds = Par

At the end of round 1, the top 5 scorers will move on to round two, with scores being cumulative. In the event of ties, it is possible that more than 5 golfers move on.

Should there be a tie at the end of round 2, the tiebreaker will be first person to score better on the course starting with hole # 1.

General Achievement Medal

I have put in a request for the end of the tournament, for the hole volunteers to play the course against the other volunteers with the winner being awarded a general achievement medal. It is pending approval.

Requirements for Roles

Hole Volunteer – Should have a reasonable amount of experience and success on the map they represent and have good attendance. If you’re willing to volunteer, please post multiple maps you’d be willing to man in order of preference and make it clear that you would like to fill the role of volunteer.

Golfer – Min 98% attendance and premium member

cool setup...i'd like to volunteer for luxemborg, doodle earth, or conquer man (in that order). Haha I have a feeling you're going to get more volunteers than actual players

a polite suggestion for you kuma, you don't have to follow what I say as it is your tournament. I liked the concept and I think you could improve the gameplay:

I'm not sure about the settings you've chosen here. Manual has it's place, but will be very dependent on who gets the start on some of these maps. Hive especially will see both players deploy one big lump, then whoever gets to roll first will knock out the other person's stack and game over - I just don't think it will be much fun for either player.

I would suggest that you allow your 18 'volunteer-hole-manners' to pick at least some of their own settings.

It woud give you a little more work as you may need to adjust the scoring of what determines an eagle, etc to be in line with the individual settings chosen, but would hopefully lead to a more competitive event overall.

As stated at the top, it's your prerogative if you want to continue with it as it is.

I'm going to keep it as is for now. It's my intention to improve each time I run it.

hes kinda right lol...hive manual will be the worst....it'll have one obvious winner really quickly, but then they'll have to play like 10 more rounds becuase its so huge. doesn't really matter 2 me though since luxemborg is a great manual map!

Couple things I am not clear on:

Not sure I understand the concept of the hole volunteers... IS it that we have X amount of Golfers and each of those golfers' opponents will be the Volunteer, so if you have 16 players, each of those 16 players will play 1 volunteer on each map?

And then after all 18 holes are done, round 1 ends, and the top 5 move on and again play the volunteers on the 18 holes, is that right, which is round 2 and the final?

Exactly. The hole volunteers will serve as the opponents for each of the holes. They are the "experts" at the map so when each of the golfers plays USA West they will face Jimmy V.
