[Tournaments] Large Turnover in the TD Department

There are times when every good run must come to an end and for new runs to begin. Turnover is a necessary component in every area of society. It is often seen with sadness to see old faces leave, but there is also excitement for what new faces can bring to a group. CC Tournaments are no different. The results are in from the public callout for new Tournament Directors, and I couldn't have been happier with the turn out. We had 11 applicants for the position, which is awesome compared to where some of the other departments have been in getting extra help. And this was the first ever public callout for Tournament Directors. All of the eager applicants for the open positions makes me excited for what is still to come for the future of CC Tournaments.


Departing Directors

I first must share the departures from the Tournament Director department. In December, [player]Steelhorse[/player] decided to take an indefinite Leave of Absence from his rolls on Team CC. Steelhorse was the longest tenured Tournament Director in the history of CC, and we would not be where we are today without his early desire to build up a small area of the site. His early work in tournaments and his continued diligence in handling his task of handing out tournament medals have been invaluable to CC Tournaments. When you look at your CC Medals in detail, most of you will see the name Steelhorse on the distributor of that medal. I hope you will remember the contributions he has made.

[player]Sonicsteve[/player] also decided to leave the Tournament Directors group. Personal life had become too busy for him to spend as much time on CC as he would have liked, but I thank him for the time he was able to spend helping out the department.

Three New Directors

In the wake of the recent departures and to redistribute tasks from Lindax's departure back in August, we decided to add a record three new Tournament Directors to dress out in gold. Out of all of the great applications, we chose to go with [player]merch313[/player], [player]chapcrap[/player], and [player]mcshanester29[/player]. They have all made great contributions to CC Tournaments in the past, and we look forward to their continued contributions as both organizers and now directors. Please welcome them aboard when you get the chance.

Task Distribution List

As is customary during Tournament Director changeover, I have updated the Tournament Director Task Distribution List to reflect the changes in leadership. We have shuffled some tasks around to even-out the tasks that each is responsible for and to hopefully continue to provide great services to all of our members even when our Directors have to take some personal time away from Team CC. As always, if you have a specific question about a specific area, please send a PM to the appropriate director or to myself.
