How do Bombardments work?
I did a Forum search, looked at the Instructions and FAQs for 'Bombardment' but came up empty with what I want to know.
How do Bombardments work?
Isn't just the the same as Auto Attack?
When and how do you get to do Bombardments?

Call me stupid, but that didn't really help me.
But thanks for trying to help Chapcrap!

Re: How do Bombardments work?
It depends on the map.
Not all maps have territs which can bombard, in fact most maps do not. Those that do have a few select territs which can can bombard a few specific territs on the map. Bombards work like regular attacks except that bombards can often bomb territs that are far away from attacking territ. Also, you cannot conquer territs by bombarding. When you kill the last troop on a territ through bombards you do not take possession of it, it will turn into a nuetral 1. This also means that you need not send a troop to garrison that territ which means you won't lose a troop from your stack for killing an ememy territ. In this way bombards can be very effective if you are lucky as technically a 4 stack can kill all territs in range.
What map are you thinking of? Waterloo is a good map to learn if you want to get to learn the ropes of bombards, it's important to read the map legend carefully and/or install BOB.

Re: How do Bombardments work?
Thanks Dog Almighty, that was very helpful.
I take that the dice roll/outcomes work the same as normal attacks - except there is no need to advance a troop to the now neutral region, if indeed it is possible?
The map is 'Das Schloss' Game 10255524
(Dog - No need for you to really read the copy/pastes below, but I thought I'd include them to try and give a clearer picture of my question!)
Below is a play one team member did that used bombardment
As you can see he Bombarded several regions from 'AA' and I didn't/don't understand how he did it.
I'll have to wait until it's my turn to put some troops into 'AA' and see what attacking options come up.
2012-02-23 05:47:48 - morleyjoe got bonus of 2 troops added to Casey
2012-02-23 05:47:49 - morleyjoe got bonus of 1 troops added to C1
2012-02-23 05:47:49 - morleyjoe got bonus of 1 troops added to C2
2012-02-23 05:47:49 - morleyjoe received 3 troops for 8 regions
2012-02-23 05:47:51 - morleyjoe played a set of Landeplatz B, Funkraum, and Kneipe worth 10 troops
2012-02-23 05:48:09 - morleyjoe deployed 11 troops on C2
2012-02-23 05:48:29 - morleyjoe deployed 2 troops on Wache Aus 1
2012-02-23 05:48:32 - morleyjoe assaulted Access Point from C2 and conquered it from joemaya
2012-02-23 05:48:35 - morleyjoe assaulted Sdt. Gerd from Access Point and conquered it from joemaya
2012-02-23 05:48:44 - morleyjoe assaulted Sdt. Sven from Sdt. Gerd and conquered it from neutral player
2012-02-23 05:48:48 - morleyjoe assaulted Kneipe from Sdt. Sven and conquered it from joemaya
2012-02-23 05:48:54 - morleyjoe assaulted DD4 from Kneipe and conquered it from joemaya
2012-02-23 05:49:00 - morleyjoe assaulted AA from DD4 and conquered it from neutral player
2012-02-23 05:49:14 - morleyjoe bombarded S2 from AA and annihilated CJ Lues's troops
2012-02-23 05:49:17 - morleyjoe bombarded S1 from AA and annihilated CJ Lues's troops
2012-02-23 05:49:25 - morleyjoe bombarded T1 from AA and annihilated Blitzstrahl's troops
2012-02-23 05:49:33 - morleyjoe bombarded T2 from AA and annihilated Blitzstrahl's troops
2012-02-23 05:49:40 - morleyjoe bombarded N2 from AA and annihilated joemaya's troops
2012-02-23 05:50:02 - morleyjoe reinforced Sdt. Mat with 2 troops from Casey
2012-02-23 05:50:02 - morleyjoe ended the turn and got spoils
After that play Morleyjoe posted this in the Team Chat (and I didn't understand exactly how the region 'AA' and bombardments from it worked)
2012-02-23 00:00:33 - morleyjoe [team]: if we contniue to increase our bonus lead and protect it, we will eventually have enough to do 1 of 2 things
2012-02-23 00:01:30 - morleyjoe [team]: load someone so big (probably Bill) to take the objectives, or stack to take the 60 stacks
2012-02-23 00:01:54 - morleyjoe [team]: either way, it will take preserverance, and maybe hitting AA once and awhile to slow them down
2012-02-23 00:02:54 - morleyjoe [team]: I'm betting though that orange takes a run at my bonus troops this turn though
2012-02-23 17:02:57 - lXeneXl [team]: If blitz doesnt take me out of NE this round, I'll accuse him of throwing the game
2012-02-23 17:03:47 - lXeneXl [team]: so close my farts squeel
2012-02-24 01:46:15 - morleyjoe [team]: you take him out first!
2012-02-24 11:31:13 - Fugitive_Bill [team]: Morley: I like the plan. --- As for Xene trying take Blitz out of the NE, I don't think he's got the firepower for it. It's a shame his spoils are not rainbow set.
2012-02-24 17:51:02 - lXeneXl [team]: no go bros
2012-02-24 17:51:25 - lXeneXl [team]: no spoil either
2012-02-25 03:04:05 - Gen. Ramsarelli [team]: Kicked pinks ass up to that last damn troop and couldnt beat him with 6 armies. What a crock! Lol
2012-02-25 03:09:04 - Gen. Ramsarelli [team]: Bill you can clear out cyan now. Head west through Wache In 1 and just circle around the block.
Going by the above, do you think his attack using bombardment was wise and are his follow through plans a good idea!?
(I guess should not be discussing/posting team tactics, less someone in the enemy team read this message, they will know our tactics/plans!
But the chances of one of them reading this are about 0.1% because reading their stats none of them appear to use the forum very often, if at all)
Sorry to throw all that at you, but once I got started I couldn't stop!
Cheers -B!LL.

I know Dog was trying to help, but do not try Waterloo to learn bombardments. Try Feudal War.

This, except times a million. You'll see why when you play it.

Exactly.
Das Schloss is not a map I've played much so I'm only limited help there. I'd just know the mechanics of the game. Yea, bombing from the AA is generally a good idea as it hits the auto deploy territs. Check the legend in the bottom of the map. It says the AA can hit C1, through Y2. All those territs which auto deploy. Except the starting positions, to actually end the game you need to use the Hubschrabers. Check the map legend to see where the Hubschrabers bomb.
Looks like teal will probably break you a bit on his go but you should still be able to get in and break his bonus thru Wache In 1 like your mate said.
Morley Joe seems to be an experienced player, my best advice is to take his on that map. He seems to think the Victory Condition territs (check the text in upper right corner of map for the VC territs) are a good idea and if you can slow them down while building for that then that's probably the best tactic. Das Schloss is not exactly my specialty though. In any case the ball is definitely in your team's court, should be a win there for ya.
And as far as Waterloo goes, sure it's a tough one. But the only way to learn is to jump right in. Of course I'm biased against the hordes of stack maps like fuedal.
Exactly.

it's a question nonetheless and the question has little to do with strategy.
