A big congrats to Donessus (Lancelot du Lac and donelladan) for winning the tournament!
Welcome to tkr's Doubles Challenge. Find a partner, pick a home map, and prepare to battle every other team to determine the premier doubles team.
Please read the whole post before signing up!
Round Robin
Each team picks a home map, settings, and a team name.
The only settings available to be picked by teams is spoils, reinforcements, and fog.
Automatic and Sequential will be imposed on all games.
A 30 round limit will be imposed on all games.
To keep games from taking too long in addition to the 30 Round limit, Trench will not be allowed.
Each round, teams will play 4 games, 2 on their home maps and 2 on their opponent's home maps, simultaneously.
If needed, a tie breaker game will be played, after the 4 initial games are played. Random map, escalating, chained, foggy, 30 Round limit.

Teams will receive 1 point for each game won.
The team that wins the match up will receive an additional 3 points.
Whichever team has the most points at the end of the tournament is the winner.
Examples:
Let's say a tie-breaker has been played, leaving the score at 3-2. The team who won 2 games would receive 2 points. The team who won 3 games would receive 6 points, 3 for winning 3 games and 3 for winning the match up.
Now let's say that a tie-breaker was not needed, with a score of 3-1. Again, the team who won 3 games get's 6 points. The team with 1 win only gets 1 point.
Now take the above example, but instead of 3-1, one team dominated and the final score is 4-0. In this case, the team with no wins gets no points for the match up, but the team that dominated ends up with 7 points. 4 for winning 4 games and 3 for winning the match up. This is the only situation where 7 points can be gained in a round. Every other situation will result in a max of 6 points available to one team per round.

Premium only
A minimum average team score of 1600(at the time of signing up) will be enforced
No trench
No freestyle
No manual
No singles signing up...please only sign up with a partner, or with a post saying that you are actively looking for a partner and will post back with one

In the event that there is a tie at the end of the tournament, it will be handled as such:
The teams will play a best of 7 match up to determine the winner. 3 games on each team's home games, plus 1 Random escalating, chained, foggy game, all simultaneously. The winner of the match up will be the winner of the tournament.
If more than two teams should tie, then the same will be done. All 3 teams will play one another, Round Robin style, in 7 game match ups, simultaneously.
So, be sure that you are willing to do that many games before signing up. However, keep in mind, it's unlikely that even 2 teams will tie due to the scoring system, which means that it is extremely unlikely that more than 2 teams will tie.

Maps may only be chosen once. Each team must have a different home map. It will be treated as "first come, first served." So sign up quickly to get the map that you want.
Each team will have a max of two 24-hour periods to join games. I will send invites, if somebody doesn't accept, I will send one more invite.
In the event that a team (or one member of the team) doesn't accept either of the 2 invites, then an automatic win will be granted to the other team, with a score of 4-0.
If this should happen twice in the tournament, then the offending team will be dropped and a replacement team will be found.
Should the need arise to replace a player during the tournament, this will be allowed once. Please keep in mind that the replacement player will need to keep the team at or above the minimum average team score of 1600.
When signing up, please include the 2 players names, a team name, a home map, and settings. Remember, the only settings you may choose are spoils, reinforcements, and fog/sun.
I'm not sure how many teams I will be taking right now. It depends on interest. But I would like to keep it at a multiple of 8. So, 8, 16, 24, etc.
I reserve the right to make changes to the tournament if needed. I will do my best to run these by the current signups/participants to ensure they are ok with the changes, but ultimately, the decision rests with me.
I also reserve the right to refuse entry to any person/team that has acted poorly in any past tournaments of mine, or who are on my foe list.
