Try not to think about the points and focus first on having fun by utilizing what you have learn so far.
Remember that it's not about how much you know but about the quality of the knowledge and understanding of that which you do know!
If you know a little very well then you are better off by far than another player who knows a lot but rather badly.

Thanks All for the congrats!
It's always a nice surprise when I log on to see that I have the possibility of a win and then actually go on to win. It's a bummer when it does not work out like I'd hope, though. LOL.
Anyways; New game link below so get in quick before the game gets all filled up. =)

How come the SOC uses terminator and not standard? Just curious

We use both, but we emphasize terminator because it gives quick feedback for students. With terminator, we can train students to focus on making kills instead of sweating to win the whole game. Of course once you learn to make kills, you win a lot of games, but it doesn't work the other way around.

I would add that the feedback comes mostly from the rank thread, and that it is easier or faster to observe a rising rank in Terminator games than in Standard where it would take more time because the whole game has to be won. In Terminator games a couple of kills gives you improved scored even if you lose the game and when a players rank goes up he quickly posts it in the "
Post your new rank here thread and that's it. It would not be so fast in Standard games.
I know that you basically said this Dhallmeyer, I am simply adding the link. =)
Also I personally prefer the Standard games myself. Much more challenging.

Everyone who wants to, please give input.
I am thinking of making the next game a Fog of War settings game. Who would be interested in a game with that setting? Same thing just that one setting changed.
Ok; And also from "Terminator" to "Standard." =)
And that's it, I promise.

Hi Viceroy,
I finished reading your articles on leave Bm's till last. I played about a 100 games of escalating to learn this, and even then seeing it in writing is a lot more useful.
I won 3 or 4 of them and what a 'rush', it is when u kill all your opponents in 1 round, careful to go in the correct order and directions, etc, getting to that point, well thats the problem, so thankyou.
I will be changing my style of play accordingly!!
I dont play much classic escalating, but the rules carry on to other maps equally well, iberia, etc.
Also team games, every man counts. Objective Maps are slightly different, as u defend a palace or chief and fog can help hide bonuss.
BUT, am well impressed, and would be happy to play Classic test match??
Also, never found survey re: your wise words??? I am crap with computers, LOL, ans survey is the incorrect word.
ps. I am NOT a member of SoC but think its ace!
Cheers, and happy gaming

Would have loved to see this comment in the Bonus Monkey Thread, but thanks just the same. Really appreciate your kind words on the article. And even if you are not in the SoC, keep reading these forum threads and learn all that you can.
Thank You! Elvean.

Hi Viceroy,
I was just perusing your winning game and i noticed something very strange.
I thought, and have always heard, GREY, as labelled,'Silver', Whereas you use 'Slate', I like that!
On the same unimportant subject, Pink, i have heard called 'Purple' or Pink. However, 'Puce', I feel suits the colour and the male ego maybe better.
Sorry for wasting your time with irrelevancies, but i could not resist!
Have Fun, and regards.

It's never a waste of time when there is communication and a good joke. LOL.

I use to call "S" Shale because it never looked like silver to me. And then, I believe it was [player]Macbone[/player] who set me straight on the actual color name of Slate.
As for 'Puce', it sounds too french for me. Almost like saying, 'Pus-sae'. LOL. Can you imagine how that conversation could go? "I sure do wish he'd hurry his ass up and play already. I hate when people take so long to play. I can't wait to play and attack that 'Pus-sae' on Magadan."
