Free's 1st Tourney: Around the Clock Finished COMPLETE

Post by FreeFalling123 »

Title: Free's 1st Tourney: Around the Clock (teams of 2)

V.J. and Seamus76 win
Type: Knockout
Phase1: 2v2
Phase 2: 1v1
Organizer: FreeFalling123

    ◦ Two games will be held at a time; therefore, all "freemiums" are welcome.
    ◦ I'm looking for 12 Teams and shooting for 2 Reserved teams.
    ◦ Team score must equal or exceed 1200ave. at the start of the tourney (ave dropped to 1200 to start the tourney)

Overview
I wanted my first tournament to be a quick one. These preferences will give you a chance to play 1-2 games on a setting of your choice, while also giving you the opportunity to learn a couple things from your opponents favorite settings at no risk to your team's standing.

The goal of this tournament is to give you the chance to collaborate with a teammate while making your way around the clock one hour/round at a time. You will challenge other teams on their preferences and be challenged through a doubles phase and then a singles phase if you are lucky enough to make it that far.

TEAMS CHOICE FOR SETTINGS:
(each team needs a dubs and singles setting)

Map & Setting Limitations:
Games will be Seq, 30 rounds
auto/man -- choose 1
chained/adj -- choose 1
esc/none -- choose 1
fog/sunny -- choose 1
trench/no trench-- choose 1
*If settings missed auto/chain/esc/sun/no trench will be assumed*
NO BETA
-- each team must follow the 12 hour snap rule at the start of foggy games or provide the missing information --
FORMATTING

A random order generator will be used to set up the clock A.K.A. "the draw".
-- You will make your journey around the clock starting from the hour hand you are given.
Ex.) 12o'clock plays 1o'clock first round a 2o'clock second round.
-- You must win on your settings to stay in it and are rewarded a knockout if you win on someone else's settings.
-- Play continues until 4-6 teams remain, these surviving teams advance to the singles phase.
-- Tie-breaker... In the rare case that only 2-3 teams remain the teams with more knockouts will be awarded by advancing (this may be altered)
Phase Two (active)
Each team is separated at opposite ends of the clock to play 1v1s from prior position without altering the order (team 1 O'clock will move to 5 O'clock if team 6 O'clock remains).
-- Again, you play one game on your home field, which must be won. The other game is away. (2 at a time)
-- Last player or team standing wins the tournament.
-- In the rare case of a tie-breaker, the rotation will repeat with each remaining team making their way around the clock once again. If tie-break reoccurs the team with the most remaining players would win first. Second the knock outs will be tallied. If there are still teams tied there will be a random tie breaker auto/chain/esc/sun/no trench.

I have a couple of questions before I put this in the database.

  1. In some places you say Round 1 and 2; in others you say Phase 1 and 2. Are those the same thing or are they different? If they are the same, it would probably be helpful to use Round everywhere or Phase everywhere.
  2. During each phase, will everyone be playing 1 home game and 1 away game at a time? So, you are defending and hour and attacking an hour at the same time? Just clarifying that.
  3. Does each team only pick one 1v1 map? Each player plays on the same map? And they also pick a separate doubles map?

Update the first post with any clarification I'm asking about and let me know. I'll check back later.

It's okay to have two completely different settings on your singles and doubles phases, but once the tournament starts you are not permitted to change your settings round by round. If you do not prefer a specific singles settings you will be given the same settings from your doubles phase.
