St. Patrick's Day 2013

Post by sempaispellcheck »

Top o' the Mornin', Conquer Club!

Surprise, surprise, the St. Patrick's Day map is open, and it will be open until 2013-3-23 23:59:59 EDT.

And if you need a little extra luck to pull off a victory, you just might find it in the four-leaf clovers on these special dice, designed by our very own [player]ManBungalow[/player]:
Image

For this event, we will be offering:

Speed Games For Premium Members,

The player who wins the most speed games on the St. Patrick's Day map over the first 72 hours of the event will receive a shiny General Achievement Medal!
Games must be finished by 2012-3-20 00:00:00 CC Time to count towards your tally!

Results: Due to confusion about when this time actually fell, and to recognize what I think is truly an incredible achievement (which no one else even came close to), I will instead award a medal to EACH of the 4 players who won more than 100 Speed Games in the first three days of the event (whichever definition is used for CC Time). These four outstanding players, in alphabetical order, are:
[player]Calaber[/player], [player]jdw35[/player], [player]KingRat[/player], and [player]RiskDominance[/player]!

Official Games For Freemium Members,

Since you guys can't get into those speed games (as much as I wanted you to), I will make 100 Official Event Games just for our freemium players! These games will feature a variety of settings on the St. Patrick's Day map, but if your favorite setting isn't represented, just send me a PM or post on my wall, and I'll make some games for you. (NOTE: No new games will be made once the map is closed again at 2013-3-23 23:59:59 EDT)
Any freemium player who wins at least one Official Game will also receive a GA Medal!
Click here to see open games, and enter the password "Free to be Lucky" (without quotes) to join.

And an Irish Assassin Tournament for All!

For this event, we thought we'd try a tournament on a setting not often seen in official tournaments - Assassin!
It'll be a 3-round single-elimination tourney, and the winner of the 8-player final game will receive 3 months Premium and a GA Medal!
The tournament is open to premium and freemium players (as long as you keep one slot open for tourney games).
Sign up here to try your luck!

Have fun, and may the luck of the Irish be with you!

No. There is, wouldn't you guess it, an unanticipated bug. The Free Speed Games update caused issues with the scripting for designating free Maps/Tournaments for free members. I have expedited this as the first thing to be fixed since we have more events coming soon. Apologies,

You absolutely can win one! The [Official] Irish Assassin Tournament is open to freemium players as well as premium players! (as long as you keep 1 slot open for tourney games)

Also, on a suggestion from rds, I will be starting several FREEMIUM-ONLY Official Event Games with a variety of settings on the St. Patrick's Day map!
The player who wins the largest number of these games will also receive a General Achievement Medal!
See the first post of the event thread for more information!

sounds good except we only get 1 slot, in a speed game you will get that slot and can join other quickly. This means most of us will only get to play in 1 or 2 games.

It seems like the games for us free members would be much better if it was possible to join them outside of the 4 game limit...

I know that the slots are filled up, and I greatly apologize. It certainly was not my intention, even though that does not change our circumstance! Best of luck to you in the games that you can manage playing.

rds, I apologize if I'm stepping on your toes or anyone else's, but I stated in the first post of this thread that the map would be open until the end of the day on March 23rd, and I will not be made a liar.
The map has been reopened.

As far as who is in the lead, I have not been keeping track, and there are already almost 10 full pages of finished games, so counting them all up will take time that I do not have right now.
I will try to get you a count sometime tomorrow, but you may have to wait until the map closes again on Sunday.

so how long will the speed games count towards the general achievement medal? because it says those only run through the 19th, which we just passed.
