A highlight/erase chat tool

I think it'd be good if there was a tool whereby a player could highlight important chat or erase unwanted chat.

Interesting idea. It doesn't strike me as impossible, but I still don't have the scripting skills to start on this.

A few thoughts for anyone (including me) who might pursue this:

like non-chat snapshots, the information is associated with a particular game and needs to be removable, probably on the same scales (this game, finished games, all games)
toggling the hidden chat would likely be useful, but can the user tell if there is anything to toggle?
what is the user interface: extra buttons on chat lines, a popup menu, ... ?
