Tournament idea: The strongest link

I have an idea for a tournament, but considering I'm really really new at this game, and have not finished any tournaments yet, I'm reluctant to start it myself. If anyone wants to use this idea, that's fine by me.

I'll use an example of 12 entrants into groups of 4 players.

3 groups of 4 players

In each group, you team up with all of the other players. Use the same map for each game( so you'll be playing 3 games in this group).
Top 2 in each group advance to round 2. Same thing happens, only this time there's 2 groups.
Again, top 2 advance for the final round, with just one group.

In case of a tie for second place, a one on one game is played, with the winner who obviously goes through.
The winner of the final group will be declared "The Strongest Link"

Might be better to have larger groups to avoid ties though, but I thought it would be easier to explain this way.

Something like that would be a fine idea, but you need to have at least 16 players in a tournament.
