Multiple tournament forum threads for same tournament

Post by D-Rock42 »

I'd like to start a new tournament with a (pseudo-)role-playing portion to it. Ideally there would be multiple forum threads for different groups w/in the tournament to do their actions separately from each other, mostly to eliminate confusion between the groups. Would it be allowed for there to be multiple threads in the tournament forum, or should the subthreads be in the General Discussion or Off Topic forum?

Or is this just a really bad idea?

Can you explain the setup?

It may be just as beneficial for players to PM each other. If the actions are supposed to be secretive, then it probably doesn't make sense to have the multiple threads.

Not secretive actions, just multiple groups acting simultaneously. Worried more about confusion than secrecy.

In general, I don't see as to where we'd have an issue with that if it's something that the tournament needs. How is the tournament intended to be set up?

I was planning on having a 16 player "poker tournament." Each player is given an amount of chips to start, the dealer would reveal the map to be used in that hand, & there'd be wagering based on how well each player thinks he would do on that map. Since the most that could play in a single hand would be 8 players, the tournament would need to be split into two groups.

Well, post your proposed tournament in the Create/Join Forum and we'll see if it warrants additional threads.
