[spoiler=rules]The tournament will take the form of a championship (each team plays two games against each other) on the Conquer Rome map. Goal is to put together the best CR dub teams and see what happens. There will be between 8 and 12 teams depending on demand. We will start 2 new games every four weeks. In principle, this means that you won’t have more than two active games at a time, maybe four for a short period of time. Tournament will therefore last between 6 to 9 months and total game to play by each team will be between 14 and 22. The idea is to maintain a relative low game load but to have a sufficiently large number of games so that strategy should prevail !
format/requirements:
- between 8 and 12 double teams - no entry as individuals (but you can reserve a spot provided you confirm teammate name within 48 hours)
- combined score of the teams: > 4.000 points at the time of signing up
- 2 games are sent out at once: freemiums can join, but have to keep 2 slots open (they have to foresee that 2 new games will be sent every four weeks)
- orders of game will be set up randomly (but you won’t start two games again the same team at the same time)
- in the event that a team needs to replace a player, this will be allowed but the replacing player must keep the team at or above the minimum average team score.
- rating>4,6 for both members of the team
Game settings:
- all games are on Conquer Rome: 2 double games at once
- settings: auto, seq, chained, no spoils, foggy, no trench, no round limit
The 12 hour fog rule will be enforced. After the game has been initialized, the team going first has to wait 12 hours before taking the turn. If the other team informs that it had a look at the map/got a snapshot, the team could start earlier of course. So give your opponent a chance to have a look at the map before starting. Breaking the 12 hour rule will give you -0,5 point, unless you indicate the information that “disappears” in the game chat.

[/spoiler]joehsnipe and gertbomber have decided to step out of the tourney. To cope with this unpleasant situation, I think that the best way is simply to cancel all games (they lost all their games) they made and to go on with 11 teams. This means taking out one win to the 6 following teams that played and won against joehsnipe-gertbomber (Ballenus-Astoriana, JJ41375-Crazysnakeguy, ChrisPond-Loutil, Regan the great-Nicky15, Dkmaster-MrPinky, Universalchiro-GingerKhan).
In the (I hope unlikely) case that another team would step out, all its games would be cancelled if it happens before round 11 (if a team has met all others everyone is treated equally) and to cancel the games of the "return phase" (day 12 and after). I'll adapt the table of standing as soon as I have some times left. Invitation 4 will be sent today and two teams will have only one game instead of two.
Tiebreaker rule (new) : if two teams end up with the same number of wins they'll play three games between them, team with 2 (or 3) wins will be the winner. If three or more teams end up with exactly the same number of wins we will play a mini tourney again between these teams (two games between each team) with the same rules than for the main tourney.
