New Player (Maybe?)

Post by jigger1986 »

Greetings Mafia Forum,

I hope this is the right place (but likely not)

Ive been considering getting into this mafia thing, where do I begin.
I dont understand the game and while Im sure there is a post on the general rules I just need some general info.

How difficult is the game to learn?
How much time needs to be committed to play?
Is there any games for new players etc...?

Thanks,

This will be moved to discussions, only games go here, but no big deal.

1. A "vanilla" game is very easy to learn and play, and has only a few roles in it. This is the best database I know of, http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Main_Page Also look at the stickied posts in this forum for basics.
2. 30 minutes a good number for a big game and a good player. A simpler game could be be 15 min every other day.
#. there is usually one or two simpler ones. If the opening post is short, it usually means the game is simple.

Wishy-Washy Mafia (12/13-17) Looks like a OK one to start on. No idea what the characters will be, but the theme are rules are straightforward.

Will be glad to have you, and answer any questions you might have. Its not a standard setup, but usually not many of my games are. Just make sure to follow the rules, and ask about anything you might be unsure of. Don't worry, we're usually lenient on new ppl.

Hey, we might be having an RT this weekend. (An RT is where we all go to live chat and play mafia in realtime for an hour or two). RTs are a great way to learn mafia! I know several people who first learned about mafia in an RT game.

Oh, also: Welcome to the Mafia Forum! Glad to have you!
