The year is 1888. The place: London, England. And through the foggy nights and bitter days, The Whitechapel Murderer has been committing their foul deeds of death, dismemberment, and mutilation. He or she has come to be known as Jack the Ripper, although some believe the letter signed as such was written as a hoax, used to generate interest in the story.
Scotland Yard is hot on the trail of the killer, pursuing all leads. But they are not the only ones interested in this killer. Some see what the murderer does as vengeance from God. After all, old "Leather Apron" has only killed the wicked harlots who swallow for a pittance in one of the most impoverished areas of the city.
On the other side of town, at 221B Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes and his indomitable partner Doctor Watson are also looking for clues. George Lusk and the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee are also conducting their own investigation…
Do you wish to find the murderer? Protect them? Glorify them? Or do you just wish to remain hidden, so that you may continue these murders for years to come, baffling all?
This is going to be gruesome … I plan on making this as pseudohistory as possible… I love Jack the Ripper and have read a ton about “him” and the events that happened. Now, of course, I am including Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson and quite possibly some others- both fictional and real- from the time period. I am looking for 12-15 players. Depending on how long it takes to fill up, the game could begin as early as February 1st.
For flavor, I will most likely be using real newspaper clippings and other events that happened in London during the years of 1888 and 1889… I WILL be making personal changes as I see fit and for the better enjoyment of the game, so if things occur out of order or do not happen at all, don’t be all “Danny, that’s not how it happened.”
This should be fun, and with some of the other games winding down, I thought this may be something new for some of us to get into…
