Shakespeare! (WINNER: Leverpuller)

Shakespeare! This is a tournament to celebrate the 450th birthday of the Bard of Avon - just like the great playwright, it uses a range of different settings and game types to determine the champion (note: you *can* hate Shakespeare’s plays and still take part in this tourney).
Number of Players: 30 (premium)
Settings: all games auto, sequential, escalating, sunny, chained (except Round 3 where we mix things up a bit)
Round 1: Tragedy (30 players) - COMPLETE
show
All Shakespeare’s tragedies end in a bloodbath and a lot of dead bodies, much like a CC game – you will take part in the following 6 plays, players randomly assigned:6 Player standard 1. Macbeth (Scotland) - Complete 2. Hamlet (Kingdom of Denmark) - Complete These guys *spoiler alert* leave a trail of bodies behind them as they go on their tragic missions – so 1 point for every kill you make.5 Player standard 3. Julius Caesar (Poison Rome) - Complete 4. King Lear (King’s Court) - Complete Lot of dead bodies here too, but at least the killer’s not the hero – if you win the game, and survive the carnage, you get 5 points.6 Player Doubles 5. Anthony & Cleopatra (Egypt: Nubia) - Complete 6. Romeo & Juliet (Italy) - Complete You’ll get randomly assigned your sweetheart – unlike in the plays, your mission is to kill off all the other star-cross’d lovers , 3 points each for the successful couple who wins. At the end of the round, the 6 players with the lowest scores are eliminated. Tiebreaker in Scotland if required. Round 2: History (24 players) - COMPLETE
show
This round is set in the medieval universe of Shakespeare’s history plays, which feature the battles of England’s great kings. The 24 players will be divided into 3 groups of 8 (with the top 9 scorers from round 1 seeded). Then there will be a round robin as everyone plays each other from their group once, in a polymorphic match on one of CC’s medieval maps. I’ve assigned each game History play names just for the hell of it, but they don’t have any significance. 1. King’s Court II (Poly 2) – Richard II - Complete 2. Draknor (Poly 2) – Henry IV Part I - Complete 3. Feudal (Poly 3) – Henry IV Part II - Complete 4. Castle Lands (Poly 3) – King John - Complete 5. Siege! (Poly 3) – Richard III - Complete 6. Feudal Epic (Poly 4) – Henry V - Complete 7. Middle Ages (Poly 4) – Henry VIII - Complete Scores are re-set from round 1, and you get 1 point for each victory – and at the end of the round, the bottom 3 players of each group are eliminated (tiebreaker is Round 1 score, then head-to-head result), so 5 from each group qualify.Group Falstaff - Complete ironmanbravo.....7 giannikas...........4 littlemao............4 karats ................4 TX AG 90...........3 ------------------- william tennant...3 (Eliminated) iAmCaffeine........3 (Eliminated) BarryMc96.........0 (Eliminated) Group Bardolph - Complete redspyder........6 kgb007...........5 Silly Knig-It.....4 osok68............4 dukasaur..........4 ------------------- epicgb..............3 (Eliminated) drake_Pk7........2 (Eliminated) ashers.................0 (Eliminated) Group Pistol - Complete sjemba.............6 Leverpuller........5 chidone.............4 muti.................4 MyTurntoWin....4 ------------------- tismypueblo.....3 (Eliminated) Risk_Averse......2 (Eliminated) Krazee-EyezKilla...0 (Eliminated)
Round 3: Comedy (15 players) - COMPLETE
show
Shakespeare’s comedies are all about confusion, mistaken identity and hilarious misunderstandings. So this round will be all in the fog, and in addition you’ll have to play with some of the more unusual settings to see if you can keep your wits about you. There will be 6 plays to take part in (all 5 player), with the following special settings:Comedy of Errors (Madness) – Zombie, Parachute - Complete Merry Wives of Windsor (England) – Nuclear, No reinforcement - Complete Merchant of Venice (Tribal War - Ancient Israel) – Assassin, Escalating, Unlimited - Complete Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oasis) – Assassin, Escalating, No reinforcement - Complete The Tempest (Austrum) – Escalating, Parachute - Complete Winter’s Tale (Antarctica) – Escalating, Adjacent - Complete The 2 non-escalating games will have a 20 round limit. The winner of each game gets 7 points, and these points are added to your Tragedy score from Round 1 – the top 8 players go through to the final. Tibreaker is your Round 2 score.Scores - Tragedy + Comedy TX AG 90..........32 redspyder.........26 osok68............24 ironmanbravo....23 karats .............21 Leverpuller.......20 MyTurntoWin....18 kgb007...........17 ------------------------------Elimination chidone............16 (Eliminated) dukasaur..........13 (Eliminated) giannikas...........10 (Eliminated) littlemao............10 (Eliminated) Silly Knig-It......7 (Eliminated) muti.................4 (Eliminated) sjemba..............3 (Eliminated)
Round 4: History II (8 players) In the final, we revisit the medieval maps of round 2, but now we’re back onto standard games:
1. Feudal (4 player) - Complete 2. Draknor (4 player) + FOG - Complete 3. Castle Lands (4 player) - 1/2 Complete
4. Middle Ages (8 player) + FOG - Complete 5. Siege! (8 player) - Complete 6. Feudal Epic (8 player) + FOG - Complete 7. King’s Court II (8 player) - Complete Points are awarded as follows:
4 player game:
Winner - 8 points
2nd place – 2 points
8 player game
Winner – 15 points
2nd place – 6 points
3rd place – 3 points
4th place – 1 point
The scores are carried over from Round 1 and 3 (Tragedy and Comedy), to create the final scores…
