The New Earth Short-Terminator Series Congratulations to the winner - [player]Serreski[/player] Details: After the discovery of an earth-like planet, Kepler, the various Galactic Powers are vying to colonise the planet with its' rich resources around the polar regions.
At the same time, beneath the densely-clouded atmosphere, indigenous inhabitants of the fertile polar regions (Astrum and Vertex) have amassed their (slightly primitive) military capabilities to resist invasion by the colonisers.
Your task, as leader of the Earth Alliance Colonisation Force is to defeat rival colonising forces and the local resistance in order to secure the planet.
This tournament is another in a series of Short Terminator tournaments.
It is open to all players with a decent attendance record (see below). Freemiums welcome (two-games-at-a-time).
Tournament Format show
Initial Stage Final Stage * If necessary competitors will also be compared on the number of terminations, then number of rounds survived in the phase in question. If this does not prove to determine qualifying competitors then a tie-break battle will occur.
Settings show
Fog of War will be present in all battles due to minimal initial knowledge of the planet. (Other settings will be Terminator, Sequential, No Trench, Automatic and 20 Round-Limit)
Competitor Requirements show
There will be 18 competitors.Fremiums allowed but 2 slots must be available at all times.
Group Allocation show
Competitors will be allocated groups according to random.org for the first stage.
Reserves show
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place.
Joining Battles show
Competitors will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Missing Turns show
If a player misses a turn then he cannot score any points in the game in question. If a player deadbeats at any stage then he will be ejected from the tournament.
Partnerships / Regular opponents show
Competitors must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these competitors do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule show
The competitor who goes first in round 1 must either wait 10 hours before taking their turn, or inform their opponent(s) in game chat of any regions conquered during their first move, and where from. Failure to do either will mean the competitor in question is unable to score any points in the game.
