The TPA5 All-Star Fan Event!!!

Greetings, one and all!!

As you may know, we are now starting the first annual
Tournament Players' Association All-Star Month!!
The Main Event of All-Star Month will be a miniature tournament - starting Monday, January 26 - for those players voted as All-Stars by our team of semi-anonymous voters, but All-Star Month will also feature Skills Competitions - starting Monday, January 19 - for those players who have participated, are participating, and have signed up to participate in a TPA5 tournament as of the time of this post.

But that's not all - All-Star Month will also feature a Fan Event for those of you who are not currently involved with the TPA5! The Fan Event will be divided into 4 events, each of which will be open for 1 week. These events will be fun, will challenge your creativity, and may also win you some fabulous prizes!!
NOTE: Players eligible to participate in All-Star Month by virtue of having participated or being scheduled to participate in a TPA5 tournament are not eligible to participate in the Fan Event.

[spoiler=Event 1 - Logo Design - deadline has passed]For the first event, we challenge you to show off your artistic talents and:

Design a TPA5 All-Star Logo!!

Now you'll notice I said a logo, and not the logo, and there's a reason for that: We're going to give you OPTIONS!
You can design a logo for:

• The Main Event,
• The Skills Competitions,
• The Fan Event, OR
• All-Star Month as a whole

ALSO, if you have a friend and/or clanmate (or multiple friends/clanmates) who is eligible to participate in All-Star Month by virtue of having participated or being scheduled to participate in a TPA5 tournament, you can create and submit a design - be it a banner, jersey, or something else - to show your support for him, her, or them.

You are not obligated to use the current TPA5 shield in your design, but if you wish to, right-click the image, and select "Save Image As"

Designs are to be submitted by PM to me, [player]sempaispellcheck[/player], by Wednesday, January 14, 23:59:59 CC Time.
You are responsible for the hosting of your design.
All players who submit at least one design will receive a General Achievement Medal (1 medal per player and 1 design per player per category).
All entries will be judged anonymously by the Tournament Directors (all of whom are also ineligible to participate in the Fan Event), and the winning entry in each category will receive 500 Conquer Credits!
I will obviously not be taking part in the judging - I'm receiving the PM's, so the entries won't be anonymous to me.
This event will run until Wednesday, January 14 21, 23:59:59 CC Time.
Winners will be announced on Monday, January 26, when the Week 4 event is opened.

Since we only received submissions from 3 players, and the submissions we received are quite good, we have decided to award each of these 3 players with a General Achievement Medal and 500 Conquer Credits.

Your task is to vote for those players you feel are most deserving of this honor by assigning them points.
Each of you has 200 points to assign, but you do not have to use all 200.

At the end of the voting process, the ballots submitted in this thread will be averaged and the average will be submitted as one ballot, equal in weight to that of any one judge. [spoiler=Event 3 - Tournament Reporting - deadline has passed]It's Week 3!! Now, we start to break into the home stretch of All-Star Month. For Week 3, we're going to give you guys a chance to whip out your microphones and notepads and go out into the field to do some reporting!

Your mission: Report on the progress of a completed or ongoing TPA5 tournament!!

Your report should contain a recounting and analysis of all rounds that have already taken place, as well as predictions for each round still to be played (to the fullest extent possible).

I will be the judge for this event.
Submissions must be posted in this thread by 23:59:59 CC Time, Wednesday, January 28.
1 submission per person, please.
All submissions will receive a General Achievement Medal.
The winning submission, as chosen by me, will receive 1000 Conquer Credits.

Players have another week to vote, and the only people ineligible to contribute to the fan ballot are those who are on the ballot and the judges who were asked to submit their own individual ballots.

The people you are asking to vote, have no interest in the TPA, because by definition, they have never played in a single event. Furthermore, even if they had a slight interest in this thing, they wouldn't know who to vote for because they don't play against us in this thing. Perhaps the eligible players should be the voters, those with the knowledge to make an educated vote. You could also add the caveat that you must vote to remain eligible. That would work .

I think there is still time to pm the eligible players and have them all post their votes to the thread, as opposed to replying to the pm.

That's not necessarily true. - the TPA is not all there is to CC. These players play with and against us in other games on CC.

That might be an idea to consider for next year.

Keep in mind that this is the first time we're actually doing any of this, so it's going to be a bit of a learning experience.
